The Business Development Manager conducts Business Development activities for commercial provider-related opportunities for categories including, but not limited to, Lifestyle, Travel, Technology, Caregiving, Home/Services, Dining, Financial Services, and Health. Responsibilities
• Develops prospect lists, prospecting strategies and conduct outreach to the marketplace. Develops and manages pipeline of prospect/provider targets.
• Represents the organization in the marketplace in a highly professional manner. Communicates effectively with an executive presence and can clearly articulate the AARP value proposition and quickly adapt to varying and sometimes challenging situations.
• Maintains a deep understanding of assigned industries and relevant players to support the creation of a business development strategy that best aligns with the industry, develop business to business (to consumer) value propositions, and develop an insightful and strategic view of the Voice of the Market that defines how the organization should be positioned and navigate industries.
• Supports and/or leads the creation of market scans and opportunity assessments. Leads and/or supports the development of Concept Documents and Business Cases supporting the new product development process. Leads RFP/RFI process including requirements gathering, market outreach, and final selection with coordination from all relevant stakeholders.
• Leads the negotiation of complex provider, commercial, and strategic relationship agreements. Effectively negotiates the best possible agreements that maximize the organization’s assets and drives revenue and engagement goals.
• Adheres to CRM and Business Development reporting and activity tracking protocol and requirements.
• Leads and/or supports internal collaboration with all necessary functions and resources throughout the organization to create and implement effective business development solutions and programs. Leads positive organizational change in how new business development opportunities are evaluated and executed.

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree required
• 3+ years of account management and/or sales-related experience
• Cold calling/prospecting experience. Familiar with platforms such as LinkedIn Sales Navigator or Zoom Info
• Email campaign management with HubSpot Marketing Campaign or similar tools
• CRM Management experience to include developing reports on acquisition and sales cycle
• Experience with presenting information, pitching ideas, and developing decks in MS PowerPoint
• Able to foster, build, and maintain relationships
• Strong persuasive skills/abilities

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

This role assists with the planning and execution of communications plans, helping to write for newsletters, web sites, and other communications channels as needed. This role functions under the direction of the manager and depending on the complexity of the task, supports the IT Communications team and IT stakeholders across IT and Exelon, including the corporate communications team. Responsibilities include assisting and executing routine communications, managing communication channels as well as being a proactive advocate for the established communications processes and procedures.

Note: This is a flex position meaning this role will be part remote and part in the office.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Assisting with the development of effective communication of IT strategies, goals, initiatives, projects, and other relevant content by producing accurate, timely, editorially proficient, and compelling content and publishing using established IT communications channels (50%)
• Support and participate in communications tasks as directed by the Communications manager including writing stories, interviewing stakeholders, updating SharePoint sites, and developing presentations (25%)
• Uses prescribed guidelines or policies to analyze and resolve problems. In addition to developing strong working relationship with stakeholders (15%)
• Support employee engagement activities including meetings, videos, broadcast events, webinars, lunch & learns, and more (10%)

JOB SCOPE
• Position reports directly to the IT Communications Manager
• Position activities are primarily internal to IT with a focus on communicating / reporting on IT strategy, initiatives, projects, goals, etc.
• Position may coordinate and collaborate with corporate communications and stakeholders external to IT
• Involves some proactive communication planning, with oversight from the manager, and plan execution, project leadership and a high level of coordination with other team members and stakeholders
• Requires ability and comfort with stakeholder engagement and outreach
• Requires occasional travel
• Works under general supervision

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelors Degree (Communications or related field) and 2 to 5 years of relevant work experience (Internal communications, employee engagement, Organizational Change Management, etc.) or in lieu of degree, 6-9 years relevant combination of education & work experience.
• Proven communications skills written and interpersonal
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage conflicting priorities on deadline
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically, innovatively, and creatively
• Proficiency in MS programs, including Office Suite and SharePoint, and Stream

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Knowledge of concepts and experience in Organizational Change Management
• Knowledge of IT-related systems / ability to communicate and report on complex technical concepts and projects
• Photography and video experience
