The Finance Information Technology (FIT) department leverages technology to improve the operating environment of the Vice President for Finance senior management area and related university constituents. FIT is currently seeking an Applications and Data Programmer to be an integral part of the FIT Business Application Solutions team that designs, develops and supports innovative... technology solutions that promote administrative efficiencies and enhance data collection and reporting.
As the Applications and Data Programmer, you will provide both technical and data-oriented expertise in the development and maintenance of data management systems and processes, the development of data collection and reporting applications, and the development and support of web-based systems and reports The Applications and Data Programmer assesses the information technology needs of end users and develops strategies to meet identified needs. Designs, develops, tests and implements agreed upon solutions. Implements and maintains systems in accordance with university, state, and federal laws, policies, and regulations. This position works on multiple projects simultaneously while independently prioritizing tasks to meet project deadlines and provides scheduled support services to cyclical operations that require business information technology and reporting expertise. This position will provide highly responsive, effective and courteous services to advance and support the data management and reporting needs of departments that report to the Vice President for Finance and Chief Financial Officer.
Successful candidates should have a diverse set of technical skills along with the ability to understand and analyze finance-oriented data, and demonstrate a high degree of initiative and self-sufficiency, professionalism, and the drive to collaborate with business users and fellow FIT team members.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education.
• Experience with relational database design, SQL, and data retrieval.
• Experience with object-oriented design concepts and web design.
• Experience converting user specifications into functional project requirements and modeling complex business processes.
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, independently prioritize tasks, and meet project deadlines.
• Ability to communicate complex concepts at a level appropriate to the intended audience.
• Demonstrated ability to work productively with minimal supervision in a team situation, and to write and speak effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
• Advanced degree in Business Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related discipline or a combination of education and relevant experience equivalent to an advanced degree.
• Experience developing applications using the .NET framework, including C# or Visual Basic, and/or using Microsoft Office 365 technologies such as SharePoint, PowerApps, and Flow.
• Experience with business intelligence or report development tools (e.g. MicroStrategy, SAS, Crystal Reports, Access, Power BI, etc.).
• Experience supporting production applications.
• Familiarity with basic financial and accounting practices.

There is the potential to visit other program sites located in North Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia, as needed. Successful applicants will be adaptable, detail-oriented, enthusiastic, comfortable working on public and private property and interacting with landowners to ensure continued working relationships, and comfortable working harmoniously with others at night.
Required Qualifications
- M.S. in Botany, Biology, Ecology, Wildlife Sciences, Natural Resources, Forestry, Environmental Science or related field.
- Demonstrated experience in the management and performance of field sampling and natural resource survey techniques.

The Division of Vehicle, Driver, and System Safety (DVDSS), a research-focused group within VTTI, seeks qualified and ambitious engineering, human factors or traffic safety professionals with a strong background in psychology, safety, and/or vehicle technology. Overseeing AVSI requires leading a group of talented researchers in a supervisory capacity, while also planning, developing, coordinating, and directing a number of significant and critical projects. This position requires a flexible individual, able to supervise projects and project teams as well as handle fluctuating work requirements, cycles of field and/or office work, and carry out complex or novel assignments requiring the development of new or improved cutting edge techniques and procedures.
The ideal candidate is an experienced researcher capable of identifying funding opportunities, developing proposals, and leading research projects while working collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams to improve transportation safety through cutting edge research. Research projects range from driving simulator and test track experiments using a single vehicle to largescale naturalistic driving studies that involve collecting data from hundreds of vehicles on public roadways. The successful candidate should have demonstrated experience with literature reviews, research design, research execution, data analysis, report writing, presentations, and publications. Experience with human factors research in transportation or related fields and expertise in statistical analyses is preferred. Proficiency with data collection and working knowledge of analysis software packages is desired. The applicant must be interested in improving transportation safety and be willing to lead and contribute to multiple projects in a fast paced, demanding, and highly rewarding research environment.

Overseeing AVSI requires leading a group of talented researchers in a supervisory capacity, while also planning, developing, coordinating, and directing a number of significant and critical projects. This position requires a flexible individual, able to supervise projects and project teams as well as handle fluctuating work requirements, cycles of field and/or office work, and carry out complex or novel assignments requiring the development of new or improved cutting edge techniques and procedures.
The ideal candidate is an experienced researcher capable of identifying funding opportunities, developing proposals, and leading research projects while working collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams to improve transportation safety through cutting edge research. Research projects range from driving simulator and test track experiments using a single vehicle to largescale naturalistic driving studies that involve collecting data from hundreds of vehicles on public roadways. Required Qualifications
Must have demonstrated knowledge and understanding of PC hardware and software support; experience performing computer repairs such as drive and memory installation; ability to assist with internal training; excellent communication skills and ability to establish effective working relationships with others; must be able to work independently as well as part of a team and to problemsolve and interact with faculty, staff and students; must be able to make decisions within the scope of responsibility. Must be able to safely move and handle up to 50 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with video teleconferencing and audiovisual equipment; working knowledge of networking, server operations, MS Windows and Macintosh operating systems; demonstrated knowledge of university policies, procedures, and systems; experience with the support of comprehensive, complex hospital management software; experience with ZOOM video teleconference and audiovisual equipment.

Ability to anticipate the needs of senior management and make independent decisions. Exceptional analytical, interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills are a must. High level of experience preparing executive communications.
Experience using Timeclock, I9, Equifax and Banner. Strong computer skills with word processing and spreadsheet software. Excellent analytical, communication, interpersonal, organizational and time management skills; Familiarity of university and state administrative policies and procedures; Experience working with faculty, researchers, staff, graduate students and wage employees. Strong skills in working with other departments in the university as needed. Work on confidential materials.
Experience providing fiscal support in an academic or professional office setting. Experience with bookkeeping and accounting functions. Demonstrated ability to multi-task, with strong analytical skills while problem-solving. Computer proficiency with software such as MS Word, Excel, Google, Adobe.
