Job Duties

This position serves as an Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) analyst in the EDI Unit. Performs accounting and control activities peculiar to year-end processing; prepares and distributes annual confirmation communication to Commonwealth’s EDI trading partners to obtain up to date banking and contact information; reviews accounts payable industry standards for EDI processing/ACH transactions; prepares EDI activity and banking data analysis; prepares and completes the daily EDI Reconciliation... updates the Commonwealth Pay Cycle dates and prepares the documentation; ensures the Holiday Pay Cycle Schedule is prepared; researches and helps resolve payment issues related to daily payments; prepares analysis and journal entry for the Quarterly Travel Check Charges; reviews, validates, and processes EDI enrollment forms; researches and provides resolution to EDI enrollment issues; assists in the design and implementation of projects and methodologies related to EDI and Pay Cycle; works alongside colleagues in a learning or teaching capacity to cross train on particular duties or assignments; and regularly reviews desk procedures to ensure steps are accurate and complete.

Minimum Qualifications

Considerable knowledge of automated financial accounting systems; and Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel, and Access). Strong organizational; written and oral communication; process improvement; analytical; research; problem solving; and time management skills. Demonstrated ability to perform complex analysis of a variety of financial data and prepare written documentation to support findings; work collaboratively with management, staff and agency personnel; research and resolve financial issues; communicate effectively with internal and external staff; understand, develop, and apply policies and procedures; collect, maintain, and secure sensitive supplier data; conduct business with integrity and respect; and identify alternatives and propose changes that improve quality and efficiency. Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of EDI/ACH programs, policies and controls; and financial management principles and practices. Degree in accounting, finance or related field preferred. Experience relating to governmental accounting; and with Oracle PeopleSoft Financial applications. Experience with Cardinal Financials highly preferred.

Minimum Qualifications
