Job Duties:

The City of Virginia Beach Planning & Community Development Department is seeking an Account Clerk II to join the Management & Support division. Job Duties:

This position serves as Barn Manager for the Mounted Patrol Unit of the Virginia Beach Police Department and reports directly to a Police Sergeant. Responsibilities include following the barn facility protocols and daily schedule for the care, exercise, and grooming of all police horses. Because the mounted unit is a year-round working unit, this position must maintain open communication with the officers, the other unit caretaker and the farrier to ensure the horses are street ready. When immediate equine medical attention is needed, this position will notify the appropriate personnel and perform appropriate follow up with the veterinarian’s instructions (changing bandages, cleaning wounds, administering medications, administering shots, documenting actions taken, scheduling vaccinations/worming, and recognizing symptoms of illnesses which in some circumstances can be life threatening).
