• Monitor activities at the federal, state, and local levels of government to determine impact and opportunity for the University.
• Research, interpret and understand state, local, and federal laws and ordinances that affect the organization's goals and initiatives.
• Monitor and assess current local and regional developments as they pertain to UT Dallas, anticipate potential challenges, and advise the Vice President for Public Affairs.
• Prepare briefing materials for university leadership in advance of meetings with local government and community officials.
• Serve as a community relations advocate, representing the University before local civic and business organizations and increasing the visibility of the University in the region.
• Operate as a community contact and a key connector for potential business and governmental partnerships.
• Plan and execute campus events with key elected officials and community groups.
• Serve on the boards and committees of regional business organizations, representing the University's interests and enhancing community impact.
• Develop and maintain relationships with government contacts of all levels.
• Create and manage effective public presentations for civic and business groups.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions
• Position is an externally focused role that attends community committee meetings, breakfasts, luncheons, and evening receptions as they arise.
• Position in based in Richardson, but the individual in this role will drive throughout the region to civic and business events and activities.

Remote Work Notice
