Summary of Job Duties:The Department of World Languages, Literatures, and Cultures at the University of Arkansas seeks applications for three open full-time Instructor of Spanish positions. These are standard non-tenure track 9-month Instructor positions. The instructor will be expected to teach four courses per semester and assist in the extra-curricular activities organized by the Spanish section and allied programs. The University is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community.

• PhD in Spanish or a related field

The Department of Food Science at the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture (UADA) is seeking a highly motivated and creative individual to provide leadership for the UADA’s operations (fruits & vegetable processing plant and commercial kitchen) of Market Center of the Ozarks (MCO), a 45,000-square-foot facility set to open in early 2024 in downtown Springdale, AR. This facility is a part of Northwest Arkansas Food Systems, an initiative focused on improving access to local food. The director will be an experienced food professional in food product and process development with preference being given to an individual having experience in the food industry or food entrepreneurship. The director will be the primary point of contact for the entity.

Responsibilities:

The director will be responsible for the overall leadership and management of the U of A System Division of Agriculture Market Center of the Ozarks (UADA MCO) operations and report to the Department Head of Food Science within the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture. The director will have responsibility and authority for all UADA MCO activities, budget, facilities, and personnel. Specific responsibilities will include:
• Lead start-up planning and development activities for UADA MCO, including developing and executing early-stage fundraising, participating in meetings with construction, property management and funder teams, complete required facility operations preparation (e.g. acquiring appropriate food safety licenses, ensuring proper installation of equipment, etc.), and hire staff to support operations.
• Develop strategic partnerships with regional food system entities to generate interest in the UADA MCO.
• Provide innovative leadership in engagement of food entrepreneurs and networks within the state and the region with the purpose of generating activities aligned with the center’s overall goal of stimulating local and regional food systems. This includes close collaboration with relevant research and extension programs at the University of Arkansas.
• Coordinate and manage the day-to-day operations, budget, personnel, and activities of the UADA MCO.
• Provide exemplary and inspiring leadership for UADA MCO and represent UADA MCO locally, regionally, and nationally to make the UADA MCO a premier center of excellence in local and regional food systems.
• Develop and execute a business plan linked to fee-for-service aimed to generate sufficient revenue through contracts, workshops, and other activities including grants to support personnel and future growth of the center.
• Develop and manage a committee of stakeholders, experts, and colleagues who will provide advice and guidance to MCO leadership on activities of MCO.
• Work with industry partners, entrepreneurs, and other stakeholders to effectively utilize the center’s facilities and equipment in creating and manufacturing new food products and processes.
• Other duties of this position will involve working with the MCO food hub entity (co-located in the MCO facility), MCO advisory committee, collaboratively working with other centers in the state, and finding suitable partners.

A proven background in food and agricultural industry and/or research and extension in academia is required.
• B.S. in food science, chemical/bioprocess engineering, chemistry, microbiology, or closely related field and either a pertinent professional license or four years of directly related experience may be substituted for the Master's degree. Substitution for a Master's degree does not waive the other requirements, which are in addition to the substitution requirements.

Desired Qualifications:
• Ph.D. in food science, chemical/bioprocess engineering, chemistry, microbiology, or closely related fields. A minimum of seven years of professional experience, including 4 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity would be required.

Summary of Job Duties:
The Gift Analyst is responsible for assisting the University's Foundation Compliance Officer with review of Payment Authorization Request for funds held by the University of Arkansas Foundation, Inc., establishing Workday project worktag requests and intra-foundation transfer requests, perform closing closing requests, monitor gift balances for deficits, review gift set-up to ensure completeness and accuracy, work directly with the campus community to resolve any issues related to establishing and/or correcting gifts in Workday, and perform other duties as assigned.
This position is also responsible for assisting the University's Foundation Compliance Officer in supporting the campus community as the single point-of-contact on University policies and practices related to the utilization of private support for University operations - be a liaison with Foundation financial staff to ensure compliance with Foundation processes and regulations, University policies, and all other applicable rules and regulations. A key component of being a campus resource will include working with and educating the campus community on how gift transactions should be processed, whether through Workday or via Foundation Payment Authorization.
This position will also work to correct any errors or issues in support of the gift integration with the UA Foundation.

Department: Supply Chain Management Support Department's Website: Summary of Job Duties: The Director of Marketing and Events will report to the Chair of the Department of Supply Chain Management and be responsible for directing marketing and events strategy, planning, and execution, including, but are not limited to, content creation and management, paid media strategy and execution, website content management, and social media channel management for Supply Chain Management in the Walton College. In addition, the Director will be responsible for the Department Chair’s social media accounts, direct event planning, coordination, and promotion activities. The Director will supervise the coordinator of events operations. The Director will also serve as an internal subject matter expert for other influencers in the department, especially for social media platforms like LinkedIn and Instagram; plan, build and execute content calendars; establish and maintain content pillars for the department supply chain management brand; work with 3rd parties to secure advertising space to promote the department, supervise student workers on graphic design, video and related fields to craft compelling visual content that drives engagement by students, alumni, faculty, staff and other stakeholders, direct/oversee: the securing of event venues, parking needs and catering, dictate and manage setup and associated technology needs for virtual and in-person events, develop event scripts/run of shows, create event-specific document creation (programs, agendas, etc.), explore and ideate new event options and design, oversee the execution of events for Masters of Science in Supply Chain Management, Supply Chain Management Research Center, Supply Chain Management undergraduate program ESG, WISE, and other department initiatives. In addition, there may be an opportunity for this person to work on lead generation/CRM for the Department of Supply Chain Management. The ideal person for this role will be a marketing-savvy professional with an eye for compelling visual content and an ability to tell a compelling story that drives engagement, especially within the context of a business school environment and the supply chain management field. As a supply chain marketer, this person is expected to become conversant with the principles and practices of supply chain management. This person will also work closely with the Walton College of Business Marketing and Communications team to ensure that efforts of the department marketing are complimentary to the larger marketing initiatives.
