Summary of Job Duties:The Department of World Languages, Literatures, and Cultures at the University of Arkansas seeks applications for three open full-time Instructor of Spanish positions. These are standard non-tenure track 9-month Instructor positions. The instructor will be expected to teach four courses per semester and assist in the extra-curricular activities organized by the Spanish section and allied programs. The University is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Appointment to begin August 14, 2023 multi-year contract, renewable contingent upon performance, program needs and available funding.

The Department of World Languages, Literatures and Cultures promotes an international understanding and global academic exchange. Minimum Qualifications:
• M.A. degree in Spanish conferred by the start of employment
• Native or near-native proficiency in both Spanish and English
• Teaching experience and evidence of quality teaching across a range of levels

Preferred Qualifications -- Preference will be given to candidates with experience or expertise in one or more of the following areas:
• PhD in Spanish or a related field
• teaching Spanish for the professions (business, health, education, legal)
• teaching heritage language learners
• innovative technology-based instruction in the classroom
