About the Role
The Athletic is seeking an Editorial Operations Associate responsible for supporting the day-to-day integration of our editorial and content operations businesses, with a focus on cross-functional projects around sales / business development, content campaign planning, and content licensing / IP.
With a 450-person editorial staff and an HQ tasked with driving subscriptions, engagement, and revenue via our growing commercial team, we need strong collaborators with an analytical mind and business acumen. The Editorial Operations Associate will work hand-in-hand with our Editorial and Operations leadership team, as well as a cross-functional group including the Newsroom, Sales, Ad Ops, Commercial, Data, Marketing, and Design, to help The Athletic leverage best-in-class journalism to reach new and existing subscribers in North America. Responsibilities
• Project manage communication, planning and connective tissue between the Newsroom and the rest of the business with a particular focus on Sales / Commercial.
• Partner with Editorial, Sales and Marketing teams to execute on new content experiences that drive subscriptions, engagement and revenue.
• Collaborate with our Business Development and Sales teams on key revenue-driving initiatives that require Editorial contributions.
• Execute on planned communication processes between key Editorial and HQ stakeholders that ensure alignment and coordination on key initiatives.
• Liaise with our Analytics teams - both HQ and editorial - to help with planning and implementation of content strategy and to monitor success metrics for content experiences.
• Partner with Newsroom leaders and Commercial teams to own IP across various platforms and content types.
• Communicate results to internal stakeholders.
Requirements
• 2+ years of digital operations, editorial, partnerships or commercial experience, ideally in editorial/media, sports, or a start-up environment.
• Deep sports knowledge, with global soccer familiarity included.
• A hustle-first mentality -- this business and industry move quickly.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

The annual base salary range for this role is $52,000.00 - $65,000.00 USD. The total compensation offered for this position may vary based on factors such as education, experience, skills, and location. It may also include non-cash rewards and benefits. About The Role
As a Program Manager for The Athletic’s Commercial team, this position will be working on day-to-day account management, responsible for managing strategic, cross-platform advertising programs from start to finish, incorporating input from internal stakeholders and key clients.

We’re looking for an experienced VP Engineering to lead our growing team of software engineers. You will report to the CTO and your direct reports will be the (5) engineering managers who lead our product teams. intercollegiate athletics program and establishes policies and procedures to develop quality, competitive athletic teams
and support the individual educational goals of each student-athlete. The Director ensures athletic programs comply
with NJCAA rules, Title IX regulations, and other applicable policies. The Director leads and supports athletic
department fundraising, supervises all part-time and full-time head coaches and support personnel, coordinates the
athletic calendar, schedules and manages the facilities, develops and manages the sports and athletics department
operating budgets, and builds and supports relationships with high school sporting teams and community members. The

Essential Job Duties

• Design and implement strength training and conditioning programs in-season, off-season, and pre-season for all school-sanctioned male and female athletic programs in a manner that reflects research-driven practices and our country's Long-Term Athletic/Fitness Development Model.
• Work in cooperation with the sports medicine or athletic training staff in the rehabilitation and strengthening of injured athletes.
• Facilitate a collaborative relationship among sport coaches, sports medicine, and the strength and conditioning staff.
• Design and implement policies and procedures for the strength and conditioning program in accordance with the NSCA Strength and Conditioning Professional Standards and Guidelines.
• Develop systems for tracking athlete attendance and athlete progress in conjunction with the sport coaches.
• Conduct an annual needs-analysis for each sport team in conjunction with the sport coach and the team's athletic trainer at the conclusion of each sport season.
• Annually conduct and review a departmental risk management plan.
• Support the implementation of OSDE Health Standards.
• Complete an annual budgetary proposal for the program that includes routine maintenance, purchase of new equipment, and staffing needs.
• Determine and reinforce expectations for athlete conduct that mirror the school's expectations for curricula and extra-curricular activities, as stated in the school's Student Code of Conduct.
• Conduct an annual evaluation of departmental staff, including the design of professional development activities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS - MIDDLE SCHOOL ATHLETIC DIRECTOR:
• Communicates consistently and frequently with the Yukon Middle School administrative team.
• Collaborates with the District Athletic Director, as well as other District personnel, to support the overall vision of the District athletic program to benefit student athletes.
• Organizes and administers the overall program of interscholastic athletics for the middle school in conjunction with School Board and OSSAA policies.
• Providing leadership in the selection, assignment, and evaluation of athletic coaches and staff members.
• Fosters good school-community relations by keeping the community aware and positively responsive to the athletic program.
• Assumes responsibility for the organization and scheduling of all middle school interscholastic athletic events.
• Hires all workers for all home athletic events including gate workers, ticket takers, officials, team physician, policemen as required, and assumes general responsibility for the proper supervision of the events.
• Arranges transportation for all athletic events and coaches.
• Arranges provision for meals for athletes and coaches.
• Develops and places into operation appropriate rules and regulations governing the conduct of athletic activities.
• Establishes the physical and academic requirements of eligibility for participation in each sport, and verifies each athlete’s eligibility.
• Prepares and administers the athletic program budget.
• Coordinates with district representatives regarding community use of athletic fields and facilities.
• Supervises the use and care of all middle school athletic facilities owned by the district.
• Supervises, on a regular basis, the practice sessions of the various athletic teams.
• Requisitions, in cooperation with appropriate staff members, supplies, uniforms, and equipment for athletic programs.
• Supervises the cleaning, storage, and care of all athletic equipment.
• Supervises all ticket sales and fund-raising events connected with the middle school athletic program, and assumes responsibility for proper handling and accounting of monies involved.
• Arranges all details of visiting teams; needs, including meals, gymnasium services, and field assistance, as appropriate.
• Makes all necessary arrangements for the use of athletic facilities, playing fields and gymnasiums.
• Arranges the practice schedules for the coaches on the fields and in the gymnasiums.
• Provides for the physical examination of all athletes prior to the beginning of each season.
• Administers the insurance program covering school athletes, and assumes responsibility for all processing of reports and claims.
• Keeps records of the results of all middle school athletic contests, and maintains a records file of all award winners, stating the date and type of the award..
• Plans and supervises an annual recognition program for school athletes.
• Coordinates all athletic activities with the OSSAA; regarding Policies, Regulation, and Eligibility.
• Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as the Superintendent may assign from time to time.
EDUCATIONAL/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
• BS in Kinesiology or related field; or equivalent experience in the field; Master’s Degree in Kinesiology and/or leadership or administration preferred.
• A current relevant professional certification credentialed by an independent accreditation agency—for example, the NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist® (CSCS®) certification; or the ability to obtain and maintain within the first two years of the position.
• Current standard first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and automated external defibrillation (AED) certifications prior to start date of the position, to be maintained for the duration of the position.
• A strong working knowledge and teaching skills in analysis and techniques of strength training.
• Experience and/or expertise in strength and conditioning programming for high school populations.
• Strong motivational abilities.
• Evidence of ability to interact positively with student athletes, colleagues, and the public.
• Evidence of strong organizational skills and effective oral and written communication skills.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Must be able to work within various degrees of noise, temperature, and air quality. Job responsibilities require both inside and outside assignments.
• Will be required to regularly stand; walk; and sit for extended periods
• Must regularly lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 75 pounds
• May experience constant interruptions, inflexible deadlines, and changes to normal routines.
• The ability to communicate with various groups of people is essential. This may include communication with parents, teachers, administrators, support staff, and outside agencies.
• The ability to effectively balance time and effectiveness in an office environment, a classroom environment, and a collaborative leadership environment constitute a major portion of this job.
• This position requires frequent night-time, weekend, and after hours responsibilities. In-district and out-of-town travel is required, as necessary, for training and/or to carry out duties and responsibilities.
