JOB DESCRIPTION

The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for an Assistant Professor, Accounting, Lee Business School [R0132640] with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2023.
ROLE of the POSITION

This tenure-track, full-time position involves teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels, conducting significant research leading to high-quality refereed publications, and performing appropriate internal and external service activities.

The university's expectation is that, as Assistant Professor, you will teach a 2+1 course load for the first three years and 2+2 course load for the next three years until tenure.
Maintenance of a 2/2 load once tenure is granted is contingent upon research productivity. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires a doctoral degree from an AACSB-accredited college or university and an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
ABDs may be considered, but credentials must be obtained prior to the start of employment.

Additionally, candidates must demonstrate the potential for excellence in both research and teaching, as evidenced by a portfolio of high-quality published or ongoing research and effective teaching evaluations.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA, CISA, CIA) is strongly preferred.

All areas of accounting will be considered, with a preference for teaching interests in financial, managerial, or audit, with a willingness to integrate data analytics and technology in the classroom.

Additionally, preference will be given to those with a demonstrated focus on performing behavioral research (e.g., experimental, qualitative) with the potential for publication in premier academic accounting journals.
