Content Creator, Anime Underground

Ranker is looking for a Content Creator to join our Anime Underground team! The Anime Underground Team generates fun, timely, popular and viral anime content for Ranker’s branded social pages. If you are obsessed with anime, this is your chance to have all those hundreds of hours you spent watching anime or reading manga pay off!

The position's title is "Publishing Operations Coordinator / Specialist" (DOE).

What a day in the life looks like:
• Writing and creating timely content in the form of lists and articles for our site.
• Brainstorming and fine-tuning content with the team.
• Organizing/updating timely lists and anime metadata

This might be the perfect role if you:
• Are a HUGE weeb and not just a casual fan of anime. We want people who are knowledgeable and passionate about a diverse array of anime and manga.
• Knowledge of popular shonen series like One Piece, My Hero Academia, Naruto, Demon Slayer, Attack on Titan etc. are a huge plus.
• Are involved in popular anime fandoms and know where to find and discuss show details, theories, fan art, memes, and trends.
• Keep up with the latest and most popular anime/manga.
• Are online, connected, and have a demonstrated understanding of all social platforms. Redditors and Twitter users have a huge advantage.
• Are comfortable with regular collaboration -- we are a smart, talented, and funny group of copy editors, writers, and social media professionals; though we’re working remotely, this is a very interactive and collaborative position. There is never a meeting that should have been an email!
• Are highly organized and detail oriented.
• Like to use both your creative and analytical side of your brain. We are data driven social media scientists following trends and signals based on current media and pop culture.
• Have a great sense of humor with the ability to convey it being a major plus.
• Want to get their foot in the door in becoming a content creator for a major publishing site.
• A background in digital media, copywriting, editing, social media content or something similar is a plus but not required if you can create the content.

How do I get this role?

Sure, a resume is needed -- but we’re more interested in how you think. Send us examples of any tangible evidence of who you are and why this role is perfect for you. This could be stuff you’ve written or produced, your Twitter feed, your Reddit persona - whatever we can quickly scan to see if it’s worth a deeper conversation. In your cover letter please include an explanation of why you would be a good fit for this role.
