Summary:

Laundry Worker I

To assist in laundry activities involving manual or machine operation tasks under the direction of a supervisor at the New Hampshire Veterans Home.

Laundry Worker II

To perform routine work under the direction of a supervisor in the conduct of laundry activities at the New Hampshire Veterans Home.

Laundry Worker III

To wash, dry, fold and deliver laundry, linen and clothing for New Hampshire Veterans Home residents while providing partial supervision to other Laundry Workers performing similar duties.

Responsibilities:

Laundry Worker I

Marks, counts and sorts incoming and outgoing laundry.

Operates washers and dryers.

Folds and bags laundry and delivers laundry to assigned destinations.

Performs routine cleaning of the laundry room area.

Lifts 45 –50 pound laundry bags repeatedly, carries loaded laundry baskets, and pushes/pulls carts.

Assists in unskilled level Health Facility Cleaning support, as directed.

Laundry Worker II

Performs repetitive, routine duties such as marking, counting and sorting incoming and outgoing laundry including operating washers and dryers.

Folds linens and clothing.

Uses independent judgment and resourcefulness in performing routine duties in the operation of the laundry machines and reporting to the laundry foreman and manager.

Interacts and communicates appropriately with other staff in regards to resident clothing, linens and general laundry items.

Lifts 45 – 50 pound laundry bags repeatedly, carries loaded laundry baskets, and pushes/pulls carts.

Performs routine cleaning of the laundry room area.

L aundry Worker III

Uses independent judgement and resourcefulness while performing duties of the laundry department and reporting to the laundry foreman and manager.

Provides partial supervision over other employees doing related work to ensure proper procedures and techniques are being followed.

Trains new and temporary employees on routine duties such as marking, counting and sorting incoming / outgoing laundry and how to operate laundry machinery.

Operates a variety of laundry machinery such as washers, dryers, ironers, and folders.

Lifts 45 – 50 pound laundry bags repeatedly, carries loaded laundry baskets, and pushes/pulls carts, often in an element of high temperature.

Separates soiled linen and clothing. Makes arrangements with resident’s unit for return of items found while sorting laundry.

Responsible for accurately counting, marking, sorting bagging and delivering clean linen and clothing to applicable unit, staff or residents.

Performs routine cleaning of the laundry area.

SUMMARY : To plan, manage, authorize, review, evaluate and report on the usage and availability of General, Highway, Turnpike, Federal and other funds that make up the Department of Transportation's operating and capital budgets in accordance with national financial reporting practices and to act as the Department's financial liaison to various legislative committees, agencies and organizations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

For CPA's:

Education: Certified Public Accountant (C.P.A.) current certificate with Bachelor's degree from an accredited institute of higher education in accounting, business administration or a related field. Responsibilities:

Oversees license processing and compliance control systems and supervises the examination and evaluation of documents submitted to OPLC for review and approval. Audits and reviews work to ensure that all information pertaining to specific professional license requirements is complete and in compliance including, but not limited to, application forms, essays, exam documentation, criminal record checks, transcripts, continuing education (CEUs), references, other state verification letters, and fees.

Achieves, maintains and proficiently applies knowledge and competencies to perform all tasks related to processing applications for initial licenses and renewals in order to provide coverage when needed and mentor and train personnel. Reviews cases, including those escalated by subordinate staff, to determine eligibility and issues licenses/renewals according to State requirements for specific boards within OPLC. Supervises licensing personnel and workflow, to include determining staffing needs, monitoring and assigning workload, conducting performance evaluations, assessing training needs, providing guidance and mentoring, recommending employee hiring or termination, and implementing progressive disciplinary action. Escalates issues to Administrator when appropriate.

Monitors timeframes for license processing with regard to statutory timeframes and makes the necessary adjustments to avoid licenses being issued or renewed without comprehensive review.

Reviews and ensures that information disseminated to the public is accurate and delivered in a timely and professional manner. Explains and interprets laws and agency policies, rules and guidelines specific to assigned boards to licensees, stakeholders, other state agencies, and the public.

Ensures that all applicable rules of confidentiality are followed and that records and documents are properly maintained in accordance with state, federal and agency policies, procedures, and regulations. Ensures that the public has access to all appropriate information.

Under direction of the Bureau Administrator, regularly reviews and frequently revises processes and procedures in response to rule and law changes impacting licensure and the regulation of occupational licenses. Coordinates with staff in other sections, such as those assigned to board administration and information technology, as necessary to make process and system modifications, and develops training for subordinate staff.

Researches and reviews compliance trends and makes recommendations regarding policy changes, rule/law proposals and amendments affecting areas of responsibility.

Supervises and ensures the timely collection of all fees and deposit to the business office.

Compiles, analyzes and interprets data regarding licensure statistics impacting the State’s workforce, such as volume and processing timeframes, and prepares ad hoc and planned reports for OPLC leadership to facilitate the development of policy goals and initiatives.

vacancy for an Air Pollution Control Engineer IV – Senior Compliance Assessment Engineer.

Summary:

Under the direction of the Compliance Assessment Section Supervisor this position will assist in overseeing and supervising the

functions of the section, including: performing compliance inspections of stationary sources; responding to complaints and alleged

violations of air pollution regulations; preparing reports of inspection activities; reviewing inspection reports drafted by section

staff; supervising the training of new staff; and providing recommendations for planning and inspection targeting.

Responsibilities:

Conducts inspections of stationary sources, specializing in the more complex air pollution sources, and determines the facility’s

compliance status with state and federal air pollution control regulations. All final reports written documenting the results of each

inspection within 30 days of the inspection.

Supervises the technical training of new staff and the ongoing technical training of existing staff on new rules, policies, applicability

determinations, and interpretation and application of rules and policies. Reviews and provides comments on draft inspection

reports and provides technical assistance to the Air Pollution Control Engineer III and Environmentalist IV.

Investigates and responds to complaints received from the general public regarding alleged violations of air pollution statutes and

rules and prepares written reports based on the investigation.

Provides compliance assistance and technical assistance to owners and operators of air pollution sources, industry representatives,

public officials, and the general public to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.

Provides technical assistance to Compliance Bureau staff in evaluating the compliance status of facilities, developing case histories

and in preparing enforcement actions.

Provides recommendations to section supervisor regarding planning activities and inspection targeting, and assists with the

coordination, review and tracking of compliance reports, including tracking of section activities using the air database.

Recommends process improvements.

Testifies at public hearings and adjudicative proceedings as an expert witness.

Assists permitting staff in determining the applicability of state and federal air regulations by collecting the necessary source and

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS : Position requires on-site presence and work at uncontrolled oil and hazardous waste sites in accordance with the requirements mandated by Federal and State regulations and the terms of the State/EPA cooperative agreements. Therefore, as a condition of employment, the job candidate must satisfactorily complete a baseline medical examination, and the employee must maintain the level of health and safety training appropriate to their job functions based on the requirements of the Occupational Safety and Health Agency or other federal and state agencies.

PREFERRED WORK TRAITS: Skill in analyzing and interpreting data, policy, and procedures. Ability to apply and interpret environmental policies and procedures as well as local, state and federal laws and regulations. Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely in oral, written and graphic form. Responsibilities:

Reviews, evaluates, and analyzes contaminated media (air, water and soil) data submitted by consultants and formulates predictions of the behavior of groundwater contamination, forming the basis for agency decisions about remedial action, cleanup, and monitoring requirements at sites with contaminated groundwater, ensuring agency rules and policies are met and there is adequate protection of human health and the environment.

Communicates with responsible parties, industry representatives, consultants, and attorneys to discuss investigation strategies and remedial actions at contaminated sites.

Performs and oversees field activities, possibly involving exposure to hazardous and toxic waste environments while evaluating the extent and impact of groundwater contamination. Acts in compliance with bureau and NHDES policies, procedures, and National Institute of

Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) requirements, including the use of specialized techniques and equipment and personal protective equipment.

Analyzes the technical aspects of consultants’ field investigations and analyses by using logical or scientific understanding to ensure that sufficient information is obtained with adequate quality assurance to support regulatory decision-making at sites with contaminated groundwater.

Develops long-term remedial action requirements and groundwater monitoring plans at contaminated sites for incorporation into site-specific groundwater permits that will assess the effects of remediation over many years.

Reviews claims for the Petroleum Reimbursement Funds and recommends payments of claims or adjusts reimbursement amounts based on an evaluation of approved budgets and the completed work.

Communicates agency rules, policies, and environmental goals and procedures to responsible parties and their consultants and lawyers to obtain understanding and compliance.

Assesses agency rules and policies applied to specific contaminated sites and evaluates the adequacy of agency procedures. Discusses deficiencies with Section, Bureau, and Division leadership when agency rules and policies do not appear adequate for specific situations.

Coordinates and shares information with other agency staff in different divisions with overlapping jurisdictions for groundwater issues to obtain and monitor uniform agency policies and procedures on groundwater issues.

Continually seeks to improve practices to add quality and value in support of the Department’s mission while identifying and eliminating unnecessary or redundant actions.
