Summary:

Laundry Worker I

To assist in laundry activities involving manual or machine operation tasks under the direction of a supervisor at the New Hampshire Veterans Home.

Laundry Worker II

To perform routine work under the direction of a supervisor in the conduct of laundry activities at the New Hampshire Veterans Home.

Laundry Worker III

To wash, dry, fold and deliver laundry, linen and clothing for New Hampshire Veterans Home residents while providing partial supervision to other Laundry Workers performing similar duties.

Responsibilities:

Laundry Worker I

Marks, counts and sorts incoming and outgoing laundry.

Operates washers and dryers.

Folds and bags laundry and delivers laundry to assigned destinations.

Performs routine cleaning of the laundry room area.

Lifts 45 –50 pound laundry bags repeatedly, carries loaded laundry baskets, and pushes/pulls carts.

Assists in unskilled level Health Facility Cleaning support, as directed.

Laundry Worker II

Performs repetitive, routine duties such as marking, counting and sorting incoming and outgoing laundry including operating washers and dryers.

Folds linens and clothing.

Uses independent judgment and resourcefulness in performing routine duties in the operation of the laundry machines and reporting to the laundry foreman and manager.

Interacts and communicates appropriately with other staff in regards to resident clothing, linens and general laundry items.

Lifts 45 – 50 pound laundry bags repeatedly, carries loaded laundry baskets, and pushes/pulls carts.

Performs routine cleaning of the laundry room area.

L aundry Worker III

Uses independent judgement and resourcefulness while performing duties of the laundry department and reporting to the laundry foreman and manager.

Provides partial supervision over other employees doing related work to ensure proper procedures and techniques are being followed.

Trains new and temporary employees on routine duties such as marking, counting and sorting incoming / outgoing laundry and how to operate laundry machinery.

Operates a variety of laundry machinery such as washers, dryers, ironers, and folders.

Lifts 45 – 50 pound laundry bags repeatedly, carries loaded laundry baskets, and pushes/pulls carts, often in an element of high temperature.

Separates soiled linen and clothing. Makes arrangements with resident’s unit for return of items found while sorting laundry.

Responsible for accurately counting, marking, sorting bagging and delivering clean linen and clothing to applicable unit, staff or residents.

Performs routine cleaning of the laundry area.

Education: Completion of eighth grade or its equivalent.

3 Laundry Worker I employees may be promoted to the Laundry Worker II level based on the following requirements:

a) Completion of a minimum of six (6) months in the position.

b) A successful performance evaluation.

SUMMARY : To plan, manage, authorize, review, evaluate and report on the usage and availability of General, Highway, Turnpike, Federal and other funds that make up the Department of Transportation's operating and capital budgets in accordance with national financial reporting practices and to act as the Department's financial liaison to various legislative committees, agencies and organizations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

For CPA's:

Education: Certified Public Accountant (C.P.A.) current certificate with Bachelor's degree from an accredited institute of higher education in accounting, business administration or a related field. Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one (1) year of required work experience.

Experience: Six (6) years of experience in financial accounting in either a private company or a government agency, including, but not limited to, responsibility for compiling financial statements with related note disclosures and maintaining general ledgers, including preparing entries and reconciliations, preparing audit schedules and exposure to auditing.

OR

FOR NON-CPA's:

Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institute of higher education with a major study in accounting, business administration or a related field. Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one (1) year of required work experience.

Experience: Eight (8) years of experience in financial accounting in either a private company or a government agency, at least two (2) years of which shall have been at the level of Financial Reporting Administrator I or in a management level position involving administrative or supervisory duties concerned with program administration, program planning and evaluation, or related management experience. Experience shall include, but not be limited to, responsibility for compiling financial statements with related note disclosures and maintaining general ledgers, including preparing entries and reconciliations, preparing audit schedules and exposure to auditing.

Preferred Qualifications: A degree in accounting from an accredited institute of higher education is preferred.

License/Certification: Applicant must possess a valid driver's license. The applicant's Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) must meet the minimum standards as established by the hiring agency.

~ Oversees the timely and complete submission of credible financial information to the Department of Administrative Services for preparation of the State's Comprehensive Annual Financial Report, Single Audit of Federal Assistance, and Turnpike Financial Statements.

~ Prepares, performs and presents financial analysis, projections and reconciliations and other specialized financial reports as required or requested by the Governor, Legislative Committees or others.

~ Manages the issuance and reporting of payment of bonds and related work for the Treasury Department and all other affected agencies and organizations.

~ Plans, administers and oversees the long-term payback schedule for all aspects of Department of Transportation Debt Service payments.

~ Oversees programs related to the Turnpike Capital Model to ensure that expected projects can be funded with projected revenues.

Responsibilities:

Oversees license processing and compliance control systems and supervises the examination and evaluation of documents submitted to OPLC for review and approval. Audits and reviews work to ensure that all information pertaining to specific professional license requirements is complete and in compliance including, but not limited to, application forms, essays, exam documentation, criminal record checks, transcripts, continuing education (CEUs), references, other state verification letters, and fees.

Achieves, maintains and proficiently applies knowledge and competencies to perform all tasks related to processing applications for initial licenses and renewals in order to provide coverage when needed and mentor and train personnel. Reviews cases, including those escalated by subordinate staff, to determine eligibility and issues licenses/renewals according to State requirements for specific boards within OPLC. Reviews all license denial cases and approves for presentation to the respective boards as appropriate.

Supervises licensing personnel and workflow, to include determining staffing needs, monitoring and assigning workload, conducting performance evaluations, assessing training needs, providing guidance and mentoring, recommending employee hiring or termination, and implementing progressive disciplinary action. Escalates issues to Administrator when appropriate.

Monitors timeframes for license processing with regard to statutory timeframes and makes the necessary adjustments to avoid licenses being issued or renewed without comprehensive review.

Reviews and ensures that information disseminated to the public is accurate and delivered in a timely and professional manner. Explains and interprets laws and agency policies, rules and guidelines specific to assigned boards to licensees, stakeholders, other state agencies, and the public.

Ensures that all applicable rules of confidentiality are followed and that records and documents are properly maintained in accordance with state, federal and agency policies, procedures, and regulations. Ensures that the public has access to all appropriate information.

Under direction of the Bureau Administrator, regularly reviews and frequently revises processes and procedures in response to rule and law changes impacting licensure and the regulation of occupational licenses. Coordinates with staff in other sections, such as those assigned to board administration and information technology, as necessary to make process and system modifications, and develops training for subordinate staff.

Researches and reviews compliance trends and makes recommendations regarding policy changes, rule/law proposals and amendments affecting areas of responsibility.

Supervises and ensures the timely collection of all fees and deposit to the business office.

Compiles, analyzes and interprets data regarding licensure statistics impacting the State’s workforce, such as volume and processing timeframes, and prepares ad hoc and planned reports for OPLC leadership to facilitate the development of policy goals and initiatives.
