Who we’re looking for… TNM The News Movement (TNM) is a media company devoted to providing engaging news content on key social media and digital channels. We believe fact-based independent journalism can be delivered differently, in ways that are innovative and exciting.

We’re creating a newsroom for the future, building a dynamic and diverse editorial team to deliver quality journalism for a mobile generation. And we’re... growing fast.

Who we’re looking for…

TNM is seeking an energetic and industrious intern to join our newsroom and work on all aspects of our editorial process. The ideal candidate is obsessed with news and storytelling. They’re well-versed in current events across the spectrum and they’re extremely online.

If the intersection of journalism and social media excites you, you might be our ideal candidate.

Responsibilities

At TNM, interns get actual story assignments. In addition to assisting the editorial team with its work, you’ll also be asked to report and produce work of your own. The work will be tailored according to the newsroom’s needs as well as your hard skills, but you should definitely understand how to tell a journalistic story for different visual and social formats.

TNM is a startup environment, which means we’re not afraid to get scrappy. A solutions-oriented mindset is key and you might need to be creative about getting where we need to go. You should be game for anything — adaptability is in your DNA.

Successful interns see their work published. You will walk out of here with clips.

Requirements

The role is best suited for someone who’s…
• Highly organized and deadline-driven
• Understands visual journalism
• Able to work both independently and across multiple teams
• Well-versed in journalistic standards and ethics
• Immersed in social media and internet culture
• Able to receive and incorporate feedback
• An excellent communicator and collaborator
• Takes their work seriously, but not themselves — a sense of humor never hurts
