Responsibilities:
• Produce and package multimedia on- and off-platform content to enhance stories, lists and user experiences. This includes but not limited to curating slide shows, video integration and internal links, working alongside editors, reporters, art, social and SEO teams.
• Use real-time analytic tools and social media for traffic and audience engagement to determine content placements for digital optimization.
• Train and support staff with CMS; go-to between newsroom, product and engineering to evaluate bugs and upgrades and coordinate new features and functions.
• Site troubleshooting and maintenance, including updating directories, section landers, commenting.
• Assist with various administrative duties, including contracts and database corrections.

Requirements:
• At least one year working in online newsroom; internships, fellowships and college publications count.
• Careful attention to detail and ability to work quickly and under deadline pressure.
• Familiarity with content management systems, photo editing software, SEO, web analytics and social platforms.
• Creative and a collaborative personality.
• The ability to work some off-hours, weekends and holidays is required.

The hourly rate for this role is $28.75 - $28.75

Your New Role...

The Production Assistant for CNN’s NY Editorial Production team works closely with unit producers to execute projects from inception to completion.

Your Role Accountabilities...

Duties include heavy research and telephone reporting, pre-interviews, and coordinating logistics for field production. The Production Assistant works closely with producers and associate producers to find the best video and elements within CNN systems and third-party sources. The PA is responsible for all show transcriptions, as well as organizing and maintaining assets via the Grid, SharePoint, etc. This role may also include populating scripts with appropriate asset suggestions and assisting Editors throughout the project. They must work closely with rights and clearances, affiliate desk, and assignment desks to ensure the best and latest video is acquired, used and credited properly. The Production Assistant is also responsible for pitching ideas and stories. Responsible for extensive archival work on documentary projects: finding old and rare footage; doing deep research on our subjects; acting as an edit assistant as projects are put together, and extensive fact checking. This role requires a creative, curious and organized worker with great ideas and editorial focus.

Qualifications & Experience...
• One plus years of experience in TV/news/digital production. Long form documentary experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field of study is preferred, or equivalent experience.
• Familiarity with databases such as MediaSource, MIRA, and the CNN Library is very helpful.
• Proficiency with archive sources, such as Getty Images and Associated Press is very helpful.
• Must demonstrate strong research skills.
• Must demonstrate strong initiative, commitment, and interpersonal skills.
• Must be team-oriented, able to take direction from producers and editors, capable of meeting deadlines and functioning calmly in high-pressure situations, including breaking news.
• Must be flexible and able to work an extended schedule as the news cycle and deadlines require.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Fox News Channel is looking for an experienced, enthusiastic Line Producer with excellent communication skills to join America’s Newsroom with Bill Hemmer and Dana Perino. The Line Producer will collaborate with senior producers to execute the vision for the show each day. Responsibilities range from filling in for the line producer to writing & producing show leads and copyediting scripts. The Line Producer must be assertive, detail-oriented, and a natural leader. You’re also an active consumer of news with impeccable judgment and good communication skills. You should be able to improvise and make smart decisions on the fly in a way that inspires the people around you to follow your lead.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Participate in daily editorial meetings by pitching original guests and topic ideas
• Produce & write key segments and teases
• Check scripts, banners, and graphics for good grammar and appropriate style & tone
• Handle all aspects of pre-production (call for elements, reporter scripts & elements, pre-taped segments)
• Fill in as line producer: build and maintain rundown, time show, execute from the control room with calm, clear communication to cooperate with technical crew and anchors
• Coordinate & anticipate breaking news coverage as needed
• Monitor the aesthetics of the screen to make sure visuals support the conversation

WHAT YOU WILL NEED
• 2-4 years of prior television (or similar) experience
• Experience working in a live control room
• Exceptional editorial skills with the ability to recognize stories and elements with high potential for compelling television
• Effective communication skills; ability to provide clarity and reassurance in high-pressure situations
• Passion for organization; ability to simplify complicated tasks under pressure
• A solid base of technical skills (specifically newsroom and video editing software)
• Strong interest/knowledge of current events and politics
• Willingness to listen, learn and grow from constructive criticism
• Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field of study is preferred, or equivalent experience
