General Experience Requirement:

Selective Certification Requirement - Criminal Cases:

This position performs legal research and analysis, and provides legal advice, guidance and technical support to the Criminal Administration Judge who oversees the various specialty courts, HOPE, and criminal cases in the First Circuit. Therefore, the incumbent of this position must possess at least one (1) year of experience with criminal cases. Experience must include familiarity with criminal case law, court processes and procedures; and involve performing legal research and analysis of appellate opinions, motions, jury charges, and court documents.

This experience may be gained concurrently with the General Experience.

License Requirement:

Applicants must possess an active license to practice law in all courts of the State of Hawaii. Applicants who have an INACTIVE license may apply, however, verification of current and ACTIVE license is required upon selection.

Duties Summary

Exempt, Non-Civil Service, Full-Time, Temporary Appointment. Minimum Qualification Requirements

EDUCATION: Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science Degree. Advanced degree in Business or Health Administration, Public Health, Nursing, Social Work or Law preferred.

EXPERIENCE: Experience with state government policy and procedure development. Familiarity with the law regarding in-patient psychiatric treatment.
