How you'll make an impact
• Independently conducts detailed analysis vital to investigating claims exposure and recommend appropriate settlement strategies and action plans.
• Create reservation of rights, coverage denial letters, negotiate and resolve settlements directly with involved parties.
• Interact extensively with various parties involved in the claims process, and may recommend retaining the advice of outside specialists.
• Handle claims consistent with clients’ and corporate policies, procedures in accordance with any statutory, regulatory and ethical requirements within specialized niche/industry.
• Document and communicate claim activity timely and efficiently and in a manner which supports the outcome of the claim file.
• Coach, mentor and may supervise lower level adjusters.

About you

Potential candidates should have the following:
• Claims Background: Employment Practices Liability (EPL)
• Jurisdictional Experience: Open to any
• Active Adjusters' licenses: Must be willing to obtain state adjusters licenses within specified timeframe

As a key member of our Claims Adjuster team, you will:
• Investigate, evaluate, and resolve complex Employment Practices Liability claims, applying your claims experience and analytical skills to make informed decisions and bring claims to resolution.
• Work in partnership with our clients to deliver innovative solutions and enhance the claims management process
• Think critically, solve problems, plan, and prioritize activities to optimally serve clients
• You will do significant work in partnership with our clients.
• Take responsibility to make better decisions, earlier in the life of every claim.
• Identify and deliver the right resources, at the right time and in the right place.
• Use outstanding analytical and reporting tools.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• High school diploma
• 7 or more years related claims experience and proven track record to handle complex claims issues at a senior adjuster level
• Appropriately licensed and/or certified in all states in which claims are being handled
• Knowledge of accepted industry standards and practices
• Computer experience with related claims and business software

DESIRED:
• Must have a Bachelor's Degree, Juris Doctorate (JD) highly preferred
• 10+years of prior experience adjusting claims in applicable specialty area
• Experience in claims as well as the insurance legal and regulatory environment
• Must have Employment Practices Liability Claims Experience
• Must have Litigation and Coverage Knowledge

We are hiring for an Engineering Project Lead who will support our First Class Seating Team in a range of products inclusive of both existing and NPI products. This position is for an experienced Project Lead with deep knowledge and highly developed technical expertise. In this role you can expect to manage medium to large size product development projects. Which can include developing project plans and budgets, perform critical analysis, pursue all cost saving opportunities to maximize project profitability, monitor project performance, identify and react to project problems and recommend solutions.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Lead the integrated product team through the development of bespoke first class seating products.
• Responsible for areas of planning, organization, and coordination of all engineering activities necessary to maintain customer satisfaction and to support execution of project deliverables and milestones on time and on budget.
• Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets for projects of varying size and scope. Can multi-task across multiple projects.
• Maintain the integrated master schedule for project(s), project and budget status, and prepares reports.
• Manage appropriate actions to ensure adherence to the established project plan, schedule, and budget.
• Oversee all phases of project development from inception through entry into service and directs the work of employees assigned on projects.
• Represent Collins as the primary customer point of contact for projects.
• Liaison between program management, engineering leadership, integrated project teams, operations, and suppliers.
• Pursue all cost saving opportunities to maximize project profitability.
• Perform critical path analysis and prepares and implements mitigation plans to ensure the successful completion of projects.
• Identify and reacts to project problems and recommends solutions, such as reallocating resources or changing contractual specifications.
• Responsible for managing project risks and opportunities, and execution of mitigation actions and contingency plans.
• Exercise technical acuity and an understanding of commercial seating products
• Monitor and assess project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer-satisfaction goals and objectives.
• Support program quote activities and post-delivery program activities.
• Travel to support program deliverables, approximately travel up to 20% a year.

Qualifications/Experience Needed:
• Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of prior relevant experience OR
• Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience OR
• In absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience is required
• Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Bachelor’s degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with Microsoft Project and Excel
• Experience with managing projects across functions and throughout the entire product cycle.
• Manufacturing industry experience developing physical products.
• Prior experience in managing projects for commercial aircraft interiors products.
• Experience managing full-cycle projects in a regulated industry.

The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Compensation Overview

The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. What Is the Opportunity?
Bond & Specialty Insurance (BSI) provides management and professional liability, cyber, crime insurance, and surety bonds to or on behalf of businesses of all sizes. The BSI Claim Counsel team conducts thorough investigation, analysis, evaluation, and disposition of claims and claim litigation to achieve superior customer service and to optimize claim results. Travelers' Private/Non-Profit Team provides executive and organizational management liability coverage to privately held companies and non-profit entities of all types and sizes as well as certain governmental public entities.

The Claim Counsel position effectively manages all assigned BSI claims, typically of moderate severity or complexity, including Employment Practices Liability, Directors and Officers Liability, and Fiduciary Liability claims. This particular position will handle a wide variety of claims throughout the country. In this role, you will handle new claims, as well as existing claims due to the absence or departure of a claim professional.

As of the date of this posting, Travelers anticipates that this posting will remain open until May, 15, 2024.

What Will You Do?
• Follow operational policies to analyze, investigate, and resolve BSI claims of varying levels of severity with moderate supervision from claims management.
• Prepare and present reports for management that accurately reflect loss development, potential/actual financial exposure, reserve adjustments, coverage issues, and claim and recovery strategies.
• Retain, monitor, and manage outside counsel actively utilizing litigation management plans and budgets.
• Communicate with underwriting on significant claim exposures.
• Identify recovery opportunities and coordinate recovery efforts with the Recovery Management Unit and Claim management.
• Travel to and attend mediations, settlement conferences, claim conferences, field office visits, trials and depositions.
• Refine policy interpretation/coverage analysis skills including drafting coverage opinions with case law included.
• Strengthen the ability to negotiate settlements/resolutions, review releases and settlement agreements, including confidentiality and non-disclosure provisions.
• Monitor marketplace conditions, conduct research, and draft reference materials to inform claim and underwriting colleagues on law impacting Travelers’ underwriting and claim decisions.
• Support underwriting marketing efforts, including participation in broker and account visits and risk mitigation seminars and authoring customer-focused white papers and articles.
• Obtain and maintain required adjusters’ licenses.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
