The position is located in the Finance Section of the Corporate Management and Consular Branch (CMCB) of the Australian Embassy in Washington DC.
The team is... responsible for management of post's financial resources and delivery of financial services to Partner Agencies and other posts in the region, whilst ensuring compliance with the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013 (PGPA Act).
Under the general direction of the Audit and Compliance Officer, the Finance Officer is responsible for management of financial resources (cash management) in the region and ensuring compliance.
The role provides advice, guidance, and management reporting to stakeholders in the region.

About the position

This is a locally engaged staff position at an overseas Australian Diplomatic Mission.

Under general direction, the Family Support Officer (FSO) is responsible for personnel administration and facilitating policy and coordination services for members of the Australian Defence Organisation (ADO) and their recognised dependants on long-term postings to the USA.

The EFSO’s primary role is to provide welfare oversight, facilitate healthcare and special needs support to ADO members and their recognised dependants administered by Australian Defence Staff (Washington) (ADS (W)). This position is responsible for liaising, researching and facilitating family welfare and support matters across the USA.
