Job Description

We are seeking enthusiastic individuals who have a drive to succeed in sales and a passion for and knowledge of any of the following regions: Africa, China, Japan, Latin America, North Africa and the Middle East and Southeast Asia.

Using their destination knowledge, our Country Specialists sell individually designed tailor-made itineraries for our discerning clients. Ideally educated to degree level or equivalent, the successful candidate will have previous sales experience, preferably within the travel industry. In addition, the ability to deliver excellent customer service is paramount.

Job Purpose
• The creation and conversion to sale of high quality tailor-made itineraries for current and future Audley clients to your region. You are ultimately responsible for planning, selling and implementation of itineraries.
• To make the most of every single genuine 'sales enquiry' received. You need to be able to differentiate between good and bad leads so that we maximize revenue and profit.
• To ensure the product sold to our clients and the supporting information is to the highest standard.
• To achieve levels of client service at all stages of the process to engender repeat business.
• To take appropriate opportunities to up-sell and switch-sell to Audley preferred products.
• Interacting with our clients mostly over the telephone - with some face to face meetings either in the office or at PR events.
• Keeping in touch with product developments in your region, ensuring that you remain a true country specialist with up to date commercial knowledge and understanding of hotels/flights/infrastructure.
• Demonstrating a total commitment to customer service. It's your goal to ensure all clients return home having had a trip which exceeds their expectations.

It all starts with a thorough induction process for all employees.
• For Country Specialists, this includes a familiarization trip in your area of specialization followed by systems training.
• Whenever vacancies arise they are advertised 'in house' first, as we like to promote from within the company.
• When a Country Specialist has been employed for a year they can enter the Senior Country Specialist scheme, which is operated using a point system.
• On top of this, every Senior Country Specialist can aim to be an Elite Specialist, who we view as role models within the company. Elite Specialists earn more money too.
• Regional Sales Managers have a more strategic role. They manage small teams and look after sales levels and operations. They report to Program Managers.

Person Specification

Essential:
• Knowledge/experience of countries or region of specialty.
• Previous sales experience.
• Strong communication skills.
• Customer service & selling skills.
• Results orientated.
• Strong organization & time management skills.
• Strong computer skills and a willingness to learn Audley's in-house system.
• Excellent writing, mathmatical and grammar skills.
• Must be willing to spend 1-3 months training in our offices in England and may require additional training and travel to our HQ. .
• Extensive travel required to your country of specialty.

Desired:.
• Previous travel industry experience a plus.
• Qualified to degree level or equivalent.

Additional Information

Job Description

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Flight Coordinator will be responsible for providing efficient ticketing and administration support to the sales team in our Boston office.

Responsiblities will include the following:
• Ticket all published and private tickets
• Ensure that all tickets are issued accurately with low DM rates
• Process ticket changes through exchanges and refunds
• Submit the weekly ARC sales report
• Manage the Apollo airline queues communicating to the sales consultants any changes with their client’s flights
• Maintain the use of Cat35/25 for our tickets
• Process client invoices, brochure reports, questionnaire reports and payment receipt letters
• Process final travel documents including Japan rail tickets and visas
• Manage incoming/outgoing post
• Stock control of brochures and office supplies

Qualifications
• Proven leisure travel experience in fares and ticketing required
• ARC qualifications taken and in date
• Excellent knowledge and practical use of airline contracts/tariffs and accounting processes
• Essential skills of using a GDS (APOLLO skills highly preferred)
• Excellent geographical awareness
• Excellent attention to detail with a proactive and flexible approach
• Strong communication, organisation and time management skills
• High level of numeracy and literacy skills

Responsibilities:
• Above all, to plan the trip of a lifetime for our clients
• Hitting monthly sales targets
• Engaging with potential clients and helping them to understand Audley’s services
• Designing completely customized itineraries for our clients while prioritizing customer safety and happiness. You are responsible for the client relationships from the moment they contact Audley to when they return home from their travels!
• Booking and liaising with hotels, tour operators, and airlines
• Communicating quickly and effectively with clients and colleagues
• Saturday shift once per month (You will be given a weekday off the week before or after, and you will have notice MONTHS in advance. This can be done from home and will typically be 10am-6pm)
• One shift per week from 11:30am-8pm.

Qualifications:
• Must be willing to travel 2-4 weeks to your assigned country as part of your training
• Must have a valid passport or travel documents to allow for travel outside of the US upon your start
• Must be passionate about encouraging others to see the world!
• Customer service & sales skills (priority will be given to those with prior sales experience)
• A keen eye for detail (this job entails extensive administrative work)
• STRONG communication skills (verbal and written communication, active listening, collaboration, etc.)
• Strong prioritization, organization, and time-management skills.
• You must be happy to educate clients on their destinations, and to answer any questions about their itineraries!

Location:

In person days will be hosted in our beautiful Boston, MA office located in the North End! We ask that our employees are office based for typically a minimum of 3 days per week.

Compensation:
• $47,250 base + commission (typically $800-1200/month after training, OTE for year 2 is $65-70k total)
• 90-100% coverage of insurance premiums
• 10 paid holidays + your birthday off!
