The Position

Job Role:
The Operations Manager must ensure Operational integrity by strictly complying with safety and security regulations, following procedures and regulations established in the operational and safety manuals.
In line with Group guidelines and standard of quality, manages activities of local Operations in order to ensure optimal utilization of aircrafts cargo and trucks capacity, contributing to customer satisfaction and maximization of load factor.
The Operations Manager is the representative of Operations in the station and is responsible for maintaining a constant communication with Sales and Distribution, Customer Service, Local Authorities and vendor/handling companies under contract to Cargo and Ground Operations. Responsible for managing his/her team including all HR related aspects.
The Operations Manager will also be responsible for Newark Airport. Travel approximately 25% of the time is expected and at times on short notice.
Organizational Context:
The Operations Manager reports hierarchically to the Regional Operations Manager and functionally to the AODs and RAOM.
The Operations Officers, Operations Agents and Deputy Operations Manager (if applicable) report to the Operations Manager.
The Operations Manager is responsible for managing the contracted vendors of his/her station, the warehouse and Martinair full freighter ramp handling, Load Control and operations support activities (Flight Handling SPLFF), and might participate in some handling duties depending on local settings and scope of service arranged with local handling companies.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Cargo handling
• Guarantee build-up plan instructions for all flights related to his station(s) / his market, based on the final booking list, which should comply with all legal and procedural regulations.
• Provide direct instruction to third parties in the specified loading and buildup
• Initiate and/or control the design and the implementation of local procedures, if local circumstances require so.
• Organize arrival manifest’s review for irregularities prior to flight arrival, problems’ anticipation and instruction of third party on necessary actions to alleviate or minimize consequences.
• Organize future flights’ preview for potential conflicts, especially for cargo planned from another station.
• Organize and steer if applicable local trucking operations
2. Capacity Management
• Coordinate and optimize flight capacity vs. cargo demand.
• Organize and control last minute changes in cargo demand to optimize flight capacity.
3. Operational Integrity / Procedural Compliance
• Operating carriers( AF KL) have a set of operational procedures which comply with all legal and procedural regulations, taking into account specific local situations as documented in My E-doc.
• Ensure and control local compliance of the operational procedures
• Where local situations require deviation, develop and implement in conjunction with RegionalOperations Manager / Regional Director and / or Area Operations Director’s / RAOM guidelines and procedures.
• Ensure Safety Management systems (SMS) as deployed by the Operating Carrier are used like audits , Station surveys, etc…..
• Ensure station information for Operations as published by various means like Minimaq , Station Information System
4. Quality control and supplier management
• Ensure all shipments are monitored, measured and reported against pre-defined quality standards.
• Organize actions taken on all reported deviations by the specified responsible party. Eg. 1) Monitor staff / GHA and equipment to achieve all quality targets and to execute all working procedures required on a per-shipment and flight level. 2) Take local actions to correct any deviations or discrepancies and report to AODs and Market Managers. 3) Guarantee all tracking/tracing (local) monitoring requests are action and ensure accurate and timely response by third-party handling company. 4) Prepare procedural gap analysis for review meeting with third parties involved 5) Perform as per Minimaq with suppliers (GHA, trucking companies) regular review meetings for analyzing and taking actions against deviations and discrepancies including C2K quality reporting system.

• Ensure and control local compliance of the operational procedures contained in the Minimaq, CHM, GHM, GOM, SMM and CSP’s and specific instructions as per My E-doc.
• Where local situations require deviation, execute as per instruction of Operations Manager guidelines and procedures.
• Use Safety Management systems (SMS) as deployed by the Operating Carrier.
• Facilitate and support Stations audit and surveys. Take care of follow-up from E-care remarks and audit/survey findings.

As an Airline MRO, our role at Air France Industries KLM Engineering & Maintenance is to guarantee the smooth operation of the aircraft our customers entrust to us. We are a major multi-product MRO (Maintenance, Repair, Overhaul) provider. With a workforce of over 12,800, We offer comprehensive technical support ranging from engineering and line... maintenance to engine overhaul, aero structure and fan thrust reverser support, as well as the management, repair and supply of components backed by a powerful logistics network. We support almost 3,00 aircraft operated by 200 major airlines.

Job Responsibilities
The Repair and Availability Controller (R&AC) is responsible for repair and delivery service levels for our customers by:
1. Issuing repair orders within 24 Hrs. after receipt of the customers’ parts
2. Managing the repair flow at the designated vendor to assure timely re-delivery of the repaired
parts, including receipt of the parts.
3. Release parts on customer requests’ within the agreed timeframe. The R&AC is involved in the whole logistical flow of components within the 787 supply chain.
Main job tasks:
• Issue repair orders:
a. Check and complete the documentation of the unserviceable part in the designated systems Crocos and Aeroxchange.
b. Prepare the (warranty) repair order in the SAP system
c. Assure and register shipment of the repair order to the designated vendor
d. Report deficiencies in customer paperwork or information
e. Prepare shipping documents for parts repaired at European facilities and inform the Amsterdam organization.
• Managing repair flow (not limited to the orders made at the Miami Location)
a. Assure and register receipt of the part at the vendors’ location and estimated return
date
b. Review and process quotes, including preparation of customer invoicing.
c. Report and take action on any deviations to the agreed repair turn time to limit impact for the customer
d. Register shipments and receipt of repaired components in the designated systems.
e. Support the Amsterdam organization with specific repair orders on request
• Release of parts
a. Acknowledge customer requests’ within the agreed target time (< 1 Hr.)
b. Check and complete part information in the designated system to inform the customer
c. Prepare shipping documents
d. Assure release of the parts from any of the KLM warehouses (Miami, Amsterdam, Kuala Lumpur)
e. Inform customer with shipping details and register information in the designated
systems
• Other
a. Stock balancing between KLM storage locations based on input from KLM Pool
Management, prepare shipping documents and release parts from the warehouse.
Register in the applicable systems
Knowledge, education and experience
Proficient in English, second language (Spanish) is preferred.
• Ability and willingness to learn KLM specific IT systems
• Knowledge of SAP is a plus, as is proven experience as an inspector incoming goods.
Physical Demands
