Administrate the clinical responsibilities of the WVU MindFit Center assessment and cognitive enhancement services
• Develop partnership and cooperative agreements with the WVU Office of Accessibility Services and other relevant stakeholders in support of the academic goals of WVU students.
• Assist with training and supervision of student trainees to conduct screening, assessment, and treatment services (including weekly didactics).
• Completed doctoral degree in Counseling, Counseling, or School Psychology (Ph.D., Ed.D., or Psy.D.)

Supervisory Lead Program Ops Staff Will Be Expected To
• Develop and deliver staff training for program support staff and lead operations staff
• Participate in the logistical planning, coordination, delivery, and evaluation of all areas of the program in relation to logistical support
• Provide logistical support to all areas of the program which could include tasks such as delivery and set up of equipment, light maintenance duties, equipment and vehicle organization and upkeep, dining support, camp supervision and interfacing with teachers
• Organize and supervise arrival of staff and students and provide initial site orientation
• Serve as the off-site support lead and liaison for the duration of the SAS season, under the direction of the Program Manager
• Visit schools and give presentations about SAS for the purpose of recruiting students
• Provide support to parents and the teachers and participants who will be attending our program
• Lead games, low ropes course activities, and portable initiatives on an as-needed basis
• Oversee lead operations staff and a rotating ops staff of 2-4 people
• Supervise students on an as needed basis, which may include serving as a guide from time to time

• Collaborate with team members from varying backgrounds and areas of expertise
• Be able to support team members’ growth by auditing their lessons and providing feedback

Time Commitment: The Supervisory Lead Program Operations staff begins work in March, and the Science Adventure School program season begins in late August. We run for six weeks with students at the Summit Bechtel Reserve in Glen Jean, WV. Following that, we spend three weeks in both Weston and Bruceton Mills, WV, in order to serve students in different areas of our state.

We expect that you will be available to work with us from March through December. Supervisory Lead Instructors generally work Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend work required. During the pre-season, we work 37.5 hours per week; however, once we are working with students, hours will vary.

Compensation And Benefits
• $26,500 stipend to cover nine months of work.
• Any time an onsite presence is required, lodging will be provided in the form of canvas platform tents, cabins, or yurts (depending on specific program location).
• All meals will be provided Monday-Friday, any time an onsite presence is required.

Minimum Qualifications And Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Prior experience working in outdoor/experiential education.
• Have at least one year of administration work experience (preferably in camping or other outdoor contexts).
• Ability to provide constructive feedback to colleagues and team members.
• Be highly organized and willing to create new systems where needed.
• Ability to hold and direct weekly staff team meetings including facilitating personal and program feedback.
• Valid driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience working with public schools and students.
• Experience working with middle school age youth.
• Comfort driving large vehicles (12-15 passenger vans or large trucks) and hauling trailers.
• Hold a First Aid, WFA, or WFR and CPR certification.
• At least 3 years of work experience in a relevant field.

What You'll Do
• Provide leadership and coordination of all assignments for events. Leadership to include decision-making responsibilities for the various events taking place as well as providing assistance to individuals with special needs to ensure their comfort. Provide leadership for setting up staging, dance floors, and various styles of tables and seating along with knowledge to provide general and special cleaning needs.
• Coordinates the cleaning and maintenance of the interior and surrounding exterior appearance of all buildings performing duties associated with a Campus Service Worker position; ensuring supplies and materials are adequately stocked throughout the buildings by inventorying supply areas and completing requisitions for submission to supervisor for additional supplies; notifying supervisor of classroom furniture, equipment, and facilities needing repair or replacement and of potential safety/fire violations by completing the proper maintenance order, location, and interpretation of Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
• Follow procedures and make work assignments to those individuals assigned to the crew to ensure work is completed in a timely manner and to ensure proper quality and quantity. Also monitor and direct the work of the custodial staff that indirectly report to him. Monitor multiple simultaneous events. Inspect completed work assignments of Campus Service Workers to ensure quality control.
• Receive work orders. Interface with all supervisors, managers, and requesting party to finalize needs and scope. Communicate work schedules and goals to employees and customer, creating efficiency and a timely completion of assigned tasks.
• Provide continual inspection of assigned area to ensure assigned work is completed on schedule; recommend to the supervisor major repair needs; assist supervisor in updating deferred maintenance.
• Recommend to the supervisor as to crew size, materials availability, and equipment in order to maintain schedule.
• Coordinate relocation of offices, classrooms, and set-ups for special events in all facilities by performing duties associated with a Campus Service Worker position; ensuring departmental personnel are aware of schedule for moves and set-ups; training new employees on proper techniques and operation of equipment; adjusting daily task assignments to meet changes in needs in priorities; and informing supervisor of problem situations. Lock and unlock doors to accommodate building schedule.
• Provide daily reports on actual progress versus projected progress to supervisor. Maintain the original scope of project to ensure project cost control. Inform supervisor of needed discipline and performance problems. Ensure that work group processes all work requests, material requisitions, weekly reports, and invoices necessary to complete assignments according to Physical Plant operation.
• Must be able to operate computers utilizing various software programs such as: Facilities Management maintenance management programs involving work orders and materials accountability, building support systems and other systems as necessary.
• Clean and maintain the interior appearance of assigned buildings including classrooms, offices, public areas, etc. by sweeping, mopping, stripping, and waxing floors; vacuuming and shampooing carpets, rugs and upholstery; dusting and polishing furniture; washing and cleaning walls, ceilings, doors, windows, etc.; and performing other related internal cleaning activities.
• Ensure that employees have adequate staff and supplies to complete assigned cleaning duties.
• Clean and disinfect bathrooms and kitchenettes including walls, floors, lavatories, commodes, sinks, refrigerators, stoves, fixtures, mirrors, etc. Replenish supplies including toilet tissue, towels, and soap.
• Operate walk-behind and riding scrubbers, high-speed buffers, automated carpet cleaners, power lifts, and all other associated equipment needed to perform duties listed above.
• Operate equipment in performance of duties such as brooms, mops, vacuums, shampooers, high-speed burnishers, etc. Mix and dilute commercial strength disinfectants, germicidal detergents, and other stringent cleaning solutions. Calculate area to determine amounts of cleaning solutions required. Follow established safety procedures in the use of equipment and materials; locking and unlocking doors, offices, classrooms, and meeting rooms as directed by the supervisor. Moves equipment, chairs, tables, etc. to other floors using dollies, carts, etc. on elevators or stairways.
• Relocate offices and classrooms within buildings and throughout campus by lifting, loading, and unloading furniture, file cabinets, boxes, etc. onto hand trucks, dollies, and box vans for transportation. May require removing desk components, doors, and shelves to ease in relocations. Move, sets-up, rearrange, and erect tables, chairs, platforms, bleachers, tents, displays, etc. for registration, commencement, and other special events. Disassemble and store items at the end of events. Must be able to interpret blueprints and drawings as they pertain to special event set-ups.
• Clean and maintain the surrounding exterior appearance of all institutional buildings by raking, removing, and disposing of leaves and debris; cleaning gutters, culverts, and other drainage areas; sweeping, shoveling, and removing snow, ice, slush, and mud from entryways and sidewalks; spreading salt and cinders on public passageways; washing graffiti from walls and sidewalks; and performing other related external cleaning activities. May be required to operate blowers, walk-behind sweepers, or any other equipment needed to perform duties listed above. Remove weeds from shrub and flowerbeds as required.
• Collect and properly dispose of trash and litter throughout institutional buildings and grounds including cleaning of trash receptacles and assisting sanitation vehicle operators. Collect recyclable items and places in appropriate storage location.

Pay Grade: 11. WVU provides competitive wages for its employees, and takes experience and related education into consideration when determining appropriate salary.

Shift: 6am-2pm, Monday-Friday (some overtime and weekend work will be needed)
• Vocational or technical training of up to 18 months beyond High School or an equivalent combination of education and directly related work experience.
• One (1) year of experience in the following areas:
• Proper commercial restroom cleaning procedures, commercial floor maintenance procedures, and commercial carpet cleaning procedures.
• Event set-ups including interpreting diagrams and setting up seating, staging, dance floors, etc.
• Assisting with plumbing, carpentry or other craft trades preferred.
• Setting up cleaning schedules and in training others in the safe and proper ways to operate all commercial cleaning custodial equipment preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge of custodial methods, procedures, and safety principles.
• Knowledge of basic grounds keeping and labor activities.
• Ability to operate basic labor supporting equipment, basic grounds keeping equipment, and demonstrated ability to operate commercial custodial equipment.
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills necessary to interact with supervisors and colleagues while providing leadership and coordination of assignments.
• Ability to read and write in English and perform simple mathematical calculations.
• Ability to comprehend and follow oral and written instructions and communicate instructions to others.
• Ability to function as a team leader providing training to others and work assignments and maintaining necessary records.
• Physical capability to perform duties of the position including long periods of standing and walking, bending, stooping and climbing, and lifting of heavy items weighing approximately 50-75 pounds.
• Ability to perform tasks requiring frequent and prolonged exposure to extreme variations in temperatures including outdoor weather conditions and exposure to dust, fumes, and chemicals.
• Ability to operate a motor vehicle including knowledge of safe driving procedures and West Virginia traffic and safety regulations.
• Ability to maintain proper attendance and punctuality standards.
• Must be able to interpret diagrams or blueprints for event. Must have knowledge to be able to set-up staging and dance floors.
