What You'll Do
• Conduct hardware and software testing for in-home network devices such as residential gateways, cable modems, Wi-Fi access points and extenders, optical network terminals, and VoIP analog telephone adapters
• Produce configuration guides and other technical documentation for new in-home networking equipment and software
• Test embedded software modules that enable additional operational support capabilities or value-added-services
• Conduct interoperability testing with operational support systems that manage subscribers’ in-home network devices
• Support development and integration of new firmware features or software modules for in-home network devices
• Engage with Windstream’s vendor partners, and participate in the ongoing development of the technology roadmap for Windstream
Do You Have?
• 3-5 years’ experience in an operations or engineering role with a broadband Internet service provider
• Experience with network protocols commonly used in in-home network devices, such as DHCP, PPPoE, DHCPv6, SLAAC, DNS, Ethernet, IPv4, IPv6, and UPnP
• Experience with common telemetry and management protocols used to manage in-home network elements, such as TR-069/CWMP, SNMP, TR-369/USP, XMPP, MQTT, and STOMP
• Experience with Wi-Fi access protocols such as WPA, WFA EasyMesh, WMM, WPS, 802.11a/b/g/n/ax, MU-MIMO, and MU-OFDMA
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Ability to solve technical problems
• Ability to show initiative, and to work individually or as part of a team

Construction Technician is responsible for installing, repairing and maintaining poles, cables and conduits; installing aerial and buried cables with associated hardware as required to build jobs; the running of fiber optic, copper and other necessary cable in the telecommunications space, both aerial and in underground infrastructure, such as... manholes; maintaining the safety of the crew by providing direction regarding procedures, road safety, manhole safety, attending safety meetings as requested; maintaining material inventory, DOT vehicle inspection; operate heavy machinery; and other duties as assigned, including, but not limited to, splicing copper and fiber cable and any tasks associated with splicing cable. • Define and drive the optimal segment marketing strategy and campaigns within the assigned Segment, focusing on driving increased acquisition.

• Lay underground cable directly in trenches or string it through conduits running through trenches/manholes.
• Pull cable through ducts by hand or with winches.
• Dig trenches for underground wires or cables.
• Perform work in accordance with industry standards and RUS standards.
• Read and follow design engineers’ instructions and specifications, maintain the scope of work on the project and adhere to safety procedures.
• Prepare engineering field notes.
• Interpret buried underground and aerial telecom facilities in records, on maps and in the field with clarity and detail and make recommendations for changes in running line or construction methodologies.
• Participate in engineering, permit and construction processes as required.
• Recognize and repair route issues including but not limited to, hand hole cleanup, sign placement, and weed control.
• Fill and tamp holes, using cement, earth, and tamping devices.

• Ability to use a variety of construction equipment to complete installations, such as digger derricks, bucket trucks, back hoes, trenchers, or cable plows
• Pole climbing certification.
• Ability to lift/push/pull up to 75 pounds.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions, year-round.
• Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights.
• Ability to work an on-call schedule rotation as well as days/nights/overnights/weekends/holidays/overtime, as needed.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to pass DOT certification pre-hire.
• Minimum qualifications to obtain a CDL post-hire.
• Ability to travel up to 50%.
• Exceptional time-management and attention to detail to complete all paperwork accurately and on-time.

• OSHA 10 Hour Safety Course and Buck Squeeze (Pole Climbing Certifications).
