Position Summary
The Evaluator is a member of WGU’s faculty. The Evaluator is a subject-matter expert and professional individual contributor with level knowledge within associated specialization/discipline. Evaluators apply their own subject matter expertise and experience utilizing a rubric created by program and assessment development faculty and applied consistent with WGU, Evaluation Department and team policies and procedures.  The Evaluator crafts personalized and robust feedback to support accurate scoring of student responses in furtherance of student progress. Work plans and schedules for Evaluators are broadly defined and require the Evaluator to develop specific work plans and schedules to provide accurate and fair evaluations, with helpful (robust & personalized) feedback.  Evaluators cooperate within the team to meet the department’s commitment to students for a quick evaluation as defined by university leadership.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

The Evaluator’s work is situational and highly complex, requiring analysis and evaluation of student responses to assessment task prompts to achieve a secure, valid, and reliable determination of competencies for degree programs. 

The Evaluator applies university, department, and team policies and procedures in scoring work and crafting helpful, robust, and personalized feedback to support students in developing competency and progressing with their degree program.  

The Evaluator’s work is critical to each student’s experience and success at WGU.   

The Evaluator works individually and collectively, as part of a content-specific team, to meet individual, team, and department objectives to be accurate, fair, helpful, and quick in an environment that is a great place to work.  

The Evaluator works effectively and reports worktime accurately, in order to be a good steward of the student’s tuition dollars. 

With general direction from a supervisor/manager and lead evaluator, Evaluators are self-managed, taking initiative and acting independently in completing performance assessment evaluations consistent with standard practices and policies and our commitment to students (i.e., accurate, fair, helpful & quick).   

When faced with an unexpected student response, Evaluators are encouraged and expected to collaborate with other evaluators, lead evaluators, and supervisors/managers as needed to make a fair determination of competency. 

To be successful, Evaluators must be well connected and coordinated within their team.

Knowledge and Abilities

Subject matter expertise and appropriate advanced degree(s)/credential(s) relevant to evaluation content area  

Work experience relevant to evaluation content area, strongly preferred

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
• Minimum earned master’s degree in cybersecurity or IT-related master’s degree
• CISSP certification
• Minimum of 3 years of work experience in cybersecurity

Working Conditions
• This position is located in a home office environment.
• This is a part-time 20 hour per week position with the potential for expansion during peak times.
• Preferred hours are afternoon/evenings and weekends.

• 3+ years of work experience in Accounting or related field
• CPA required

Job Profile Summary:
The Vendor Portfolio Analyst is the primary point of contact between Western Governors University (WGU) and current and potential vendors. This individual communicates internal and external product and business strategies to support and advise regarding potential areas for partnerships and improvements in relation to the student experience. The Vendor Portfolio Analyst, working with cross-functional stakeholders, will aid in the evaluation and recommendation of products and/or processes from vendor portfolios based on identified needs for program development or student satisfaction and in support of department and university strategies. This individual collaborates with internal stakeholders to help create the vision for the next generation of learning resources for the university. The Vendor Portfolio Analyst manages a portfolio of several vendors and maintains current and relevant knowledge of their vendors’ products and services and ensures they continue to meet WGU needs, as well as state/federal guidelines and policies. The individual proactively learns new technology that may improve student outcomes or the learning experience. The Vendor Portfolio Analyst drives vendor results by pushing vendors to achieve contractual and operational excellence in their performance through regular vendor evaluations and business reviews. The Vendor Portfolio Analyst owns the business relationship and holds themselves and their vendors accountable. This individual will also be comfortable working to build resources within their specific area, including, but not limited to, ongoing support/training and quality assurance of deliverables.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
• Actively manages the relationship between Academic Programs and external partners to facilitate the timely delivery of quality learning experiences
• Collaborates with WGU’s departmental stakeholders to ensure the procurement and/or implementation of all learning resources are successful and meet established criteria, including accessibility, technical, security, and quality standards
• Consults with internal and external stakeholders to recommend any available products and delivery systems within an assigned vendor’s portfolio, following established processes for legal and purchasing if applicable.
• Evaluates industry trends and emerging technologies for potential enhancements to the student experience, sharing knowledge with stakeholders as appropriate
• Partners with internal stakeholders to objectively evaluate product value and ROI, as well as to compare similar products when applicable.
• Partners with the Purchasing Department to strategically source, competitively bid, and contractually negotiate all agreements, if applicable.
• Manages contractual agreements, including expiration/renewal dates, service level agreements, costs, and timelines, and informs stakeholders of all associated issues, such as budget impacts
• Proactively engages with vendors to determine upcoming product or process changes and vendor roadmaps, and notifies necessary stakeholders to plan accordingly
• Partners with stakeholders to conduct business reviews with vendors to evaluate their performance and to ensure continuous improvement of products and vendor performance
• Handles vendor issues by developing a corrective action plan, managing the risk, and ensuring the plan is achieved while keeping stakeholders informed
• Ensures team members are supported and successful by providing quality assurance reviews of individual team members work, creating and updating job aids, as needed, and providing regular calibration exercises and training.
