Acquisitions Associate - Position Summary

Allen Media Group / Freestyle Digital Media is looking for an Acquisitions Associate, to track, evaluate, screen, negotiate and acquire our company’s diverse portfolio of submitted feature length narrative and documentary films for distribution.

This role will support our Head of Acquisitions, Head of Digital Film and Senior Manager of Acquisitions in identifying and acquiring titles for distribution. The ideal candidate will be organized, proactive, highly responsive, and detail oriented, with a drive to be both independent and a team contributor to ensure updated progress status reports are communicated across the board for our various Film projects.

Responsibilities:
• Serve as the day-to-day client-facing contact, handling all requests and communication with potential clients/filmmakers.
• Schedule external & internal meetings, calls, and video conferencing with various clientele across multiple time zones.
• Prepare team for markets and festivals, targeting and identifying new business.
• Creating relationships with filmmakers, producers, and other talent in order to find opportunities for collaborations with the company.
• Manage the process and flow of incoming submissions of finished films and distributing as needed to the correct department in Freestyle for visibility.
• Prepare weekly tracking, project status and project performance reports.
• Maintaining notes for films screened that are clear, accurate, and concise descriptions of the films submitted.
• Prepping, sending and tracking deal memos, negotiating and corresponding when needed with our legal team.
• Maintaining national festival screening program. Negotiate screening terms and fees.
• Provide backup support to other executives as needed.

Qualifications:
• Minimum 1-2+ years of relevant experience within the film Industry with preference given in the acquisition, film sale or festival space.
• Experience in content acquisition agreements is highly desirable.
• A strong knowledge of the independent film industry including markets, festivals, current players and trends.
• Ability to interact comfortably and effectively with external partners and clients.
• Growth mindset with a willingness to receive and provide feedback to improve strategies and day to day responsibilities.
• Strong proficiency and working knowledge of Airtable and Google Suites products.
• Must be comfortable working independently and managing multiple projects at once.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, actionable self-starter, and team player.
• BA/BS from an accredited University or College preferred.

Position Summary
