The Washington Post is seeking a Front-End Engineer to join its Live News + Article team. This team of engineers works closely with product design to build new features that enhance our reading experience for live news coverage. As a Front-End Engineer, you will participate in each step of the development lifecycle from development and code review to automated testing and... deployments. Responsibilities

• Improve your code and that of your teammates through constructive, collaborative code reviews
• Educate and empower team by contributing to documentation for new functionality, production problems and their solutions, and areas wherever you identify gaps
• Ensure quality of production code by developing automated tests (unit, integration, system) and learning monitoring infrastructure
• Provide timely and effective maintenance support and problem resolution for existing systems
Qualifications
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experienced with modern JavaScript fundamentals (coding, debugging, testing, and automation techniques)
• Proficient in React and CSS
• Experience using git to push and track code changes in a professional environment
• A collaborative spirit and ability to build strong relationships within and beyond your team
• Excellent verbal/written communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to deliver quality solutions within established timelines
• Preferred: Familiarity with automated testing tools like React Testing Library, Playwright, Cypress or Jest. Experience with Node, NextJS, Typescript

Create, manage, and evangelize a strategic roadmap for Arc’s web and API delivery products. Incorporate user feedback, business goals, and engineering requirements into a living roadmap for the Delivery product. Conduct presentations about product features and benefits to various audiences. Lead and contribute to cross-team initiatives. Strategize product vision, coordinate product release activities across multiple teams, and drive internal team coordination and clear communication. Engage with client, designers, engineers, and other product managers to identify, validate, and execute on key roadmap initiatives. Solicit client feedback to drive platform and feature improvement. Act as subject matter expert of Arc’s Delivery product. Describe, demo, and document key technical features of the Delivery product for Arc customers and internal users. Identify internal processes and product features that will advance those goals in the short and long term. Identify key metrics to drive adoption of new features and best practices and report them to stakeholders.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Systems, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Telecommunications & Networking Engineering; and 5 years of experience as Quality Assurance or Product Engineer. Also required: 5 years of experience working with Agile processes and principles and delivering content and commerce experiences at high scale; 5 years of experience with Akamai or another CDN configuration, AWS, HTTP, front-end web development, web origins, WAF rules, and running a network of sites; 5 years of experience in product management and web engineering; and 1 year of experience working within an enterprise SaaS business. All experience may be earned concurrently. Remote work from any US state or DC is permissible.

Manually place bundles of paper, weighing up to 30 pounds, on and take off of conveyor belt
Operate conveyor belt controls
Feed stacks of papers into inserting machine
Run and repair collating and inserting machines
Change spools of materials weighing up to 50 pounds with the use of lifting tools
Wraps and bundles utilizing machine
Mechanically operates various electro-mechanical machinery that bundles, wraps, straps, and palletizes bundles of paper
Dispatch materials to various locations in the rack
Enter, verify, and monitor a dispatch information utilizing computer
Cut metal and plastic bands from around skids
Prepares product by fanning or jogging to separate and feeds in to machine
Job Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
Previous manufacturing experience a plus
Ability to work in a fast paced noisy environment
