What You’ll Do
• Execute intricate paid social media campaigns across a variety of social media platforms
• Translate client requests into intelligent and successful campaign strategies
• Be well-versed in the targeting capabilities of social platforms
• Develop in-depth, streamlined reporting methods to present campaign performance
• Oversee setup, implementation and reporting of controlled A/B tests

Who You Are
• 1-2 years experience developing and managing successful paid social media campaigns
• Proven experience executing large scale paid social media campaigns through multiple social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, TikTok, Youtube etc.)
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, especially with the ability to execute pivot tables and other various data presentations
• Derive detailed and calculated insights from your campaign work
• Ability to problem solve, think critically, and deliver a consistent, premium product to clients
• Ability to work within a collaborative team environment that fosters a positive experience for teammates and ensures efficient performance

• Analyze a variety of data sources to uncover meaningful insights and provide recommendations to clients and internal teams on how to act.
• Build visualizations and dashboards that bring data to life and tell the story of the campaign or initiative.
• Review academic studies from economics, psychology and other social sciences to uncover evidence-based approaches to influencing human decision-making and behavior.
• Research new platforms, vendors and industry trends related to data and behavioral science.
• Work as a collaborative partner across all parties including clients, vendors, and VOX team members.

Qualifications
• Undergraduate degree, graduate degree a plus
• Prior internship experience in a related field, such as marketing science, behavioral insights, market research, consumer behavior or business analytics.
• Familiarity with Excel and Google Analytics. Familiarity with Google Data Studio, Tableau and/or Microsoft BI is a plus.
• Understanding of approaches to communications and public affairs.
• Organization and attention to detail are essential in this role.
• Candidate must have the ability to prioritize and manage tasks across multiple projects.
• Ability to be communicative, flexible and precise under aggressive deadlines and during high-pressure situations.
• Experience writing Boolean queries is a plus but not required.

Since its launch in 2018, Future Perfect has developed a loyal following for its idiosyncratic, mission-driven approach to news. Our coverage is animated by a baseline question: what’s truly important that we need to cover — not what’s in the news, not what’s trending on Twitter, but the stories that we think truly matter for human and animal lives? True to the name of the vertical, we constantly ask ourselves: In 10, 20, 30 years, what will we look back on and wish we devoted more time covering? Then we go ahead and do those stories today.

This fall, thanks to a generous grant, we’re hiring three fellows to help us ensure Future Perfect is telling the most important stories to our audience and approaching those stories with nuance and discernment. The fellowship is a one-year, full-time, position with a salary of $72,000 (with benefits).

The Future Perfect Fellowship is a perfect opportunity for emerging journalism talent, subject-matter experts looking to move into journalism, or established journalists who want to switch beats or gain expertise on a new platform.

The fellowship will be a year-long program to receive extensive training and mentorship along with opportunities above and beyond that of traditional entry-level/intern positions. Aside from intensive feedback from editors, fellows will also have dedicated mentors, exclusive networking opportunities, skills training sessions featuring journalists from Vox Media and other outlets, and the chance to attend one professional conference per year, such as NABJ, NAHJ, SRCCON, NICAR, or EA Global.

• Previous newsroom experience (including college papers) or comparable experience in another field — we have had great luck turning lawyers, think tank staffers, scientists and other subject-matter experts into great journalists

WHAT YOU’LL DO

The Email Marketing Manager is responsible for driving conversions to New York subscriptions and increasing engagement from current subscribers as well as key audience cohorts through email. This position reports to the Director of Consumer Marketing and will be part of our acquisition team focused on developing strategies and executing efforts to grow our subscription business.

As Email Marketing Manager, you’ll work closely with the Consumer Revenue, Design, Product/Dev, and Analytics teams to optimize email campaigns, analyze performance, and manage the email calendar. Candidates should have experience in A/B testing, staging and deployment, and managing and refining automated campaigns. Additionally, together with the Consumer Revenue team you will participate in development and ongoing refinement of the email roadmap and play a significant role in execution of the roadmap.
• Partner with Consumer Revenue stakeholders.You will use existing data to develop high impact email campaigns supporting the full-funnel needs of our subscription products. Your email campaigns will establish messaging, targeting, flighting, testing, and the plan for measurement.
• Produce and schedule email campaigns for deployment.
• Develop tests for monthly campaigns, automated drip sequences, triggered emails, and transactional correspondence.
• QA outgoing email campaigns for the proper image-to-text ratio, image-sizing, font-sizing, device-rendering, and segmentation.
• Maintain list health and integration with other vendors.
• Monitor, track, and report on all marketing campaign performance (open rates, CTR, subscription conversions, etc.).You will provide analyses of email campaigns and recommendations for enhancing their effectiveness.
• Work closely with the creative team to develop and test new creative.
• Manage Consumer Revenue email calendar.

WHO YOU ARE
• 4-5 years experience managing robust email strategies, calendars, and testing schedules.
• Comfortable with reporting on results, specifically presenting on email performance and how campaigns are reaching monthly subscription goals.
• Proven experience using Sailthru (or another email service platform) and knowledge of email best practices, CAN-SPAM, GDPR, and CCPA.
• Highly proficient in building audiences for segmentation and re-targeting, A/B testing, staging and deployment, and automated campaigns
• Experience supporting product and content launches through smart campaign activation.
• Strong organizational and project management skills and detail oriented.
• Extremely strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Google Analytics.
• Experience working in a CMS a plus.
• Knowledge of HTML/CSS specifically as it pertains to coding email templates a plus.
• Ability to manage shifting priorities and tight deadlines associated with a fast-paced environment.
• Bachelor degree preferred, preferably in marketing or related field.
