Responsibilities
• Lead by example by taking ownership, being proactive and collaborating,
• Inspire, motivate and directly manage engineers in various roles,
• Oversee the entire software development life cycle, from planning and design to implementation, testing, and maintenance.
• Develop and implement effective project management methodologies and best practices, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality software products.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to define project requirements and objectives.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members, assisting with complex problem-solving and promoting continuous learning and professional growth.
• Monitor and evaluate team performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary changes to optimize productivity and efficiency.
• Continuously research and stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in software development and management.
• Take initiative to address the larger technical needs of the features/product you work on,
• Ensure that your team delivers that meets the expectations while taking all the non-functionals like security, performance, maintainability, and reliability into account.

Preferred experience
• Experience of directly managing engineering teams
• Experienced software engineering manager with remote management experience
• Experience in driving successful technical initiatives that improved productivity, performance and quality
• Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking abilities, with a strong focus on accuracy and thoroughness.
• Experience working in Fintech and developed payment solutions
• Demonstrable software design and development experience for distributed systems; using one or more of the programming languages, preferably Java, Go, Python, Ruby
• Demonstrable experience with relational(e.g MySQL, PostgreSQL) and non-relational(e.g MongoDB, DynamoDB) databases
• Experience with message brokers(e.g RabbitMQ, Kafka, SQS)
• Deep knowledge on Computer Science fundamentals, algorithms and data structures
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to clearly convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with DevOps, continuous integration, and continuous delivery is a plus.

You are expected to have a good understanding of the below technical stack:
• Ruby, Go or Java 11 or above;
• Microservices;
• DevOps;
• Security Testing.

Bookiply is our software and service solution which helps vacation rental owners manage and distribute their properties more efficiently. You will be part of our team in Algarve and will work from our newly opened office in the region. You will be a brand-ambassador and help us to raise our flag in Portugal.

Your role in this journey
• Reach out to vacation rental owners and execute sales strategies (mostly by cold calling) to find out if Bookiply is the right solution for their needs.
• Generate... sales by handling all aspects of the sales cycle from prospecting to closing.
• Be rigorous in activity tracking and monitor your completion of monthly targets.
• Support the onboarding process of new team members and share your knowledge with other international sales teams at Bookiply.
• Help in organizing events to promote Bookiply and build a community of vacation rental owners.

• High level of self-motivation and ability to convince our vacation rental homeowners both on the phone (cold calling) and face to face.
• Positive mindset towards new challenges and empathic personality that enables strong interpersonal relationships
