Laboratory space and start-up funds for the Director's research program will be provided by MCOM, and the Director will have a nationally competitive salary with bonus potential. Resources for recruitment of additional research-intensive faculty will be made available through various sources in order to continue to grow the Division. The Division is supported by a strong Department of Internal Medicine, and a research-focused Dean and Vice Dean for Research. The practice plan provides significant infrastructure and logistic support for addressing clinical issues as they arise. The division trains medical residents and offers a fellowship in allergy/immunology. The division also provides clinical coverage at area hospitals and clinics, including the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center, the James A. Haley VA, All Children's Hospital, and at our major teaching affiliate-Tampa General Hospital.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

The postdoctoral associate will lead analyses that examine the relationship between remotely-sensed environmental factors across multiple scales and the risk of zoonotic disease occurrence... and transmission on the landscape, with particular emphasis on vector-borne zoonoses.
Minimum Qualifications: PhD in ecology or related discipline. The applicant should possess proficiency in R, and a record of publication in academic journals.
Preferred Qualifications: Competitive candidates will have demonstrated experience with using satellite-derived data in ecological contexts; identifying and leveraging novel data sources; applying dynamical models to ecological/epidemiological questions, ideally with vector-borne zoonoses; and eco-informatics and applying machine learning methods to ecological questions.
Duration: This position is full time for one year, subject to renewal. The position includes base salary of $60,000, plus benefits. Start date is May 1, 2023.
Note: University policies require residence in Florida during the position. Compensation for relocation is negotiable.
