POSITION SUMMARY:

The Senior Manager/Director of Sales and Membership Operations provides direction and leadership to the U.S. Chamber’s Fundraising division to drive forward important initiatives and priorities to transform the department’s product, process, and team. The ideal candidate will be the strongest project leader and problem-solver, with the ability to couple smart analysis and fresh thinking with deep organizational understanding and interpersonal skills to deliver results and affect change. In particular, this individual will a leader in change management with a capacity to work cross-departmentally with key operations partners (e.g., finance and IT) to leverage technology (such as Salesforce) to create positive business outcomes.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Serves a key role in sales organization change initiatives by continuously assessing the need for organizational change; championing change initiatives; removing obstacles impeding constructive organizational change; and managing/reporting on workstreams and timelines.
• Supports enterprise-wide, strategic initiatives by guiding/executing analysis of existing products, development of key insights, recommendations of solutions/new products, and implementation and adoption for the organization.
• Working in close partnership with technology and finance colleagues, leads the development and execution of a plan to “reboot” Salesforce usage throughout the organization, and to transform Salesforce into a vehicle to measure relationship health and to drive positive business outcomes.
• Serves as the liaison between the sales and technology teams, gathering and prioritizing feature requests and change requests based upon business value.
• Supports the development of new membership benefits and products.
• Engages in other ad hoc projects as needed and in support of the team’s annual revenue goals.

EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor’s degree as well as 6+ years of operations experience in a fast-paced and evolving sales or membership environment.
• Experience supporting teams in a transitionary phase, preferred.
• § Data-driven approach to utilizing a CRM, such as Salesforce, to track progress, identify trends, and grow engagement.
• * Superior relationship experience; strongest client service ethic.
• Strongest presentation and persuasion skills; confidence when conversing with colleagues at all levels to understand opportunities and concerns and recommend solutions.
• Excellent written communications skills, a passion for details, and an obsession with accuracy.
• Ability to effectively articulate the Chamber value proposition to our members, with an interest in politics and policy and a deep appreciation for the contribution that the Chamber makes to the business community at large.
• A growth and learning mindset characterized by openness to challenging assumptions at the organization and personal levels.

Position Overview

In partnership with the Senior Vice President, Europe, provide value to member companies by helping to develop, promote, and manage the U.S. Chamber’s trade, investment, and regulatory priorities in Europe and the United Kingdom. The incumbent will liaise with a wide range of companies, government agencies, diplomats, and business associations in the United States, Europe, and the United Kingdom. The position reports to the Senior Vice President for Europe.

Responsibilities
• Work with SVP on strategic development and growth of Europe program
• Serve as Executive Director of the U.S.-UK Business Council
• Actively recruit new members for the Europe program and U.S.-UK Business Council
• Enhance the brand and profile of the Europe program and U.S.-UK Business Council in Washington, Brussels, London, and other key European capitals
• Management of key EU and UK trade, investment, and regulatory policy issues related to digital/technology policy, trade, agrifood, and life sciences/pharmaceuticals
• Oversee and/or draft policy papers, reports, meeting briefings, testimony, speeches, and other materials for use with external and internal audiences, including government officials, corporate members, policy committees, media outlets, Chamber executives, and the public
• Oversee and/or draft and present timely trade, investment, regulatory, and political analysis
• Contribute content for weekly newsletters, blogs, internal and external updates, websites
• Develop, manage, and chair programs and events
• Co-lead trade missions to Europe and UK
• Respond to members’ business development inquiries

Requirements
• 15+ years’ experience working with European/British trade and investment policy matters, including engagement with relevant U.S., UK and European officials
• Demonstrated expertise in European government practices, policies, structures, and cultures
• Successful fundraising and management expertise
• Exceptional interpersonal and written/oral communications skills in English
• Success in working as a team player in a fast-paced hybrid environment
• Willingness to travel overseas
• Knowledge of the U.S. business community operating in Europe
• Strong knowledge of and professional connections with U.S. government, Congressional offices, and policy organizations preferred
• Relevant executive or legislative branch experience a plus
• Significant on-the-ground or comparable experience in Europe/UK a plus
• French or German language skills a plus

Position Overview

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce Membership and Fundraising division seeks an entrepreneurial, intellectually-curious business leader to join our team and support the growth of the Chamber’s membership for our legal programs, the Institute for Legal Reform and the U.S. Chamber Litigation Center.

We seek a law graduate or other legal professional, who is eager to couple deep legal knowledge and an understanding of the courts with a front-of-business mindset to unlock and deliver member opportunities and value. The Director will proactively identify prospects based on industry and legal knowledge; prepare and present targeted and compelling marketing proposals; deliver policy and legal insights; and, ultimately, lead the membership sales pitch through commitment. The Director will work in close partnership with the Chamber’s legal policy leaders and will report to the Vice President of Corporate Relations.

Responsibilities
• Lead sales and prospecting efforts to sign on new members for the Institute for Legal Reform and the Litigation Center.
• Work closely with ILR and Litigation Center attorney executives and subject matter experts to develop and deliver industry-specific marketing/sales proposals, reports, talking points, and pitch letters.
• Take a proactive, opportunistic view to upcoming litigation with an eye towards potential impact to current and prospective members; c onstantly observe the market to identify emerging companies and sectors that could be strong membership prospects.
• Lead the complete sales cycle, from initial outreach to membership on-boarding.
• Meet or exceed individual annual revenue goals.
• Be a generous team contributor.

Requirements
• 7+ years’ experience, ideally spent in a legal environment with some experience in a sales/business development capacity.
• Bachelor’s degree, required; law degree, preferred.
• Superior relationship management experience and sales skills; strongest client service ethic.
• Strongest presentation and persuasion skills; confidence when conversing with of C-Suite leaders from large corporations in a business development capacity.
• Demonstrated ability to build trusted C-suite level relationships and to leverage those relationships to unlock revenue.
• A growth and learning mindset characterized by openness to challenging assumptions at the organization and personal levels.
• Strong techniques around guiding sales messaging with diplomacy, tact, and sensitivity for a range of audiences; organizational and business savvy .
• Deep intellectual curiosity and a passion for policy, with an ability to unpack complex topics to turn them into digestible, compelling sales opportunities.
• Ability to effectively articulate the Chamber value proposition to our members, with an interest in politics and policy and a deep appreciation for the contribution that the Chamber makes to the business community at large.
• A nose for news and the ability to creatively connect the dots between the headlines, the courts, and the corresponding impact to a given industry or company.
