ROLE of the POSITION...

The International Student & Scholar Advisor ("Advisor") focuses on assisting and advising new and continuing international students with legal eligibility and personal and academic issues so that students can meet academic and professional goals at UNLV. The Advisor also processes and tracks necessary documentation for students and updates SEVIS data regularly to meet compliance requirements and deadlines. The Advisor is responsible for disseminating information pertaining to immigration and international students throughout the campus community. The Advisor role includes involvement in organizations and activities that promote inclusion and global diversification. Advisor duties include:
• Manage UNLV's SEVIS compliance as DSO, ensuring all documentation is in order when students arrive for their first semester and while continuing their education and during CPT and OPT/OPT STEM authorizations.
• As required, run training sessions and tutorials for students and faculty for the various SEVIS compliance requirements.
• Work with GEI student services and UNLV student support agencies to provide student assistance as needed.
• Brief Associate Director of F-1 Advising on weekly operations and student challenges.
• Collaborate with other UNLV DSOs to ensure consistent policies and procedures.
• Follow all FERPA regulations while handling a high volume of incoming and outbound calls and emails.
• As needed, organize and participate in all OISS sponsored student events in order to cultivate belonging.
• Assist with monitoring TERRA DOTTA database for data errors such as incorrect major, class standing, academic standing, and GPA.
• Provide resources for international student support and engage in student care duties as delegated by the Director.
• Assist the Associate Director of F-1 Advising in training the international student workers in the OISS Ambassador program with a focus on OISS customer service operations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires a Bachelor Degree from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and 1-2 years professional experience. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident. Credentials must be obtained prior to the start of employment.

The Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships is excited to invite applications for the role of Financial Aid Scholarship Coordinator ("Scholarship Coordinator"). The Scholarship Coordinator assists in managing the workflows for the many internal processes surrounding awarding, troubleshooting and clean-up of all scholarship programs and external awards at UNLV.

The Scholarship Coordinator oversees and ensures the timely awarding and disbursement of monies according to donor specifications and institutional or Board of Regents policies and assists the Executive Director with monitoring accounts, and creation and monitoring of all necessary awarding components in SalesForce, PeopleSoft, and WorkDay. The Scholarship Coordinator assists in the supervision, training, and evaluation of the scholarship team. The Scholarship Coordinator monitors and establishes new workflows (as appropriate) and recognizes bottlenecks and appropriate benchmarking in processes in order to reduce the amount of time for awards to be disbursed to students and for UNLV to be compliant with Federal, State, other external and internal institutional guidelines. Additionally, the Scholarship Coordinator assists in creating and maintaining business process guides for awarding processes in both PeopleSoft and SalesForce (SF) and be responsible for the training of the scholarship team and any other campus constituents on those processes.

This position requires the incumbent to have complex knowledge of Federal Title IV regulations, scholarship administration rules related to a plethora of donor memorandums of understanding, the Millennium Scholarship Program, and other state scholarship/grant programs.

The Scholarship Coordinator works closely with the Recruitment team, the UNLV Foundation, the UNLV Graduate College, various UNLV Departments, summer orientation programs, Clark County High Schools, the Cashiering and Student Accounts Office, the Nevada Treasurer's Office and the Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE). Additionally, the Scholarship Counselor works with external foundations and programs in applying funds provided as scholarships via checks and other means to student accounts. Additionally, the Scholarship Counselor in creating and deploying business process guides for the training and development of other staff members and various stakeholders across campus.

This position requires the ability to run, accurately monitor and interpret data. Scholarship program information is analyzed within spreadsheets and reports are reviewed for further analysis.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and 3-5 years professional experience in customer service, public speaking, experience in standard and electronic presentations, experience in high paced environment requiring attention to detail. Job Description

The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for Assistant Director, UNLV/CSN Transfer Program, UNLV Undergraduate Education - Academic Affairs Advising [R0135372]

ROLE of the POSITION

The Assistant Director (AD) position exists to help achieve the UNLV/CSN Transfer Program's goals of advising and supporting transfer students while coordinating transition advising services and programs for the UNLV/CSN Transfer Program. This position reports directly to the Director of UNLV/CSN Transfer Program (UCTP) and collaborates with various UNLV & CSN (i.e, CSN FSCC) administrative offices in order to stay up-to-date on curriculum as well as university policies and procedures, to provide accurate information to students. The AD collaborates with CSN to revise and create transfer agreements for each baccalaureate program at UNLV as mandated by the Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE). The transfer agreements include a year-by-year outline of course requirements, including general education and degree requirements.

In the absence of leadership, the Assistant Director serves as the UCTP lead and a proxy and/or UNLV representative on the NSHE Articulation Coordinating Committee. The position must also be involved with the identification of non-articulated CSN courses and the submission of those courses to the UNLV Registrar’s Office. Collaboration and coordination with college leadership (i.e., faculty, undergraduate coordinators, department chairs) are essential. In addition, the position must be skilled at marketing and public relations between CSN and UNLV transfer-related programs (i.e., admissions, financial aid) as it relates to advising processes and disseminating related information.

The Assistant Director provides academic advising and major/career planning for CSN students who are planning to transfer to UNLV. The position should be knowledgeable about the specific needs of transfer students as it relates to the smooth pre/post-transition between or among institutions. The Assistant Director must have knowledge about the UNLV general core requirements for each major at UNLV, as well as the policies and procedures of the college and university. Skills include the utilization of professional judgment to assist students with course evaluation for their articulation worksheets as it relates to transferring to UNLV, as well as the selection of coursework in relation to transferability guidelines. Knowledge of admissions, registration systems and financial aid functions at UNLV is required. Having the ability to plan, coordinate, and make group presentations are essential functions. The UNLV/ CSN partnership requires attendance at events for both institutions and requires travel to and from various locations.

Time management skills and abilities in balancing a wide variety of tasks and a large caseload in an efficient and effective manner are vital to the success of this position. This individual must possess professional and social skills to interact and be responsive to faculty, staff, students, and parents from diverse backgrounds. It is essential that this person have knowledge of student confidentiality guidelines (FERPA) and high regard for ethics. Also, the Assistant Director will need to have an understanding of the needs that our diverse population of students brings to UNLV and incorporate student success strategies to impact the retention, progression and completion of the CSN transfer population. Finally, the Assistant Director must possess leadership skills and potential, the ability to work independently with focus and self-direction, the desire to look for opportunities for creative academic partnerships as well as the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team to support the transition process for students.

This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited college or university. Minimum 3 years of experience in academic advising in higher education. General knowledge of admissions, registration systems, and financial aid functions at both CSN and UNLV. Travel between UNLV and all three CSN campuses. Required evening and weekend event attendance.
