Job Description

Available Schedules:
• 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Thursday - Monday

Public Safety is responsible for fostering and maintaining a safe learning and working environment for the Augsburg University Community. This environment is attained through proactive patrol of the campus buildings and ground and through positive interactions with the community we serve.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Creating and maintaining a safe learning and working environment for members of the Augsburg University Community.
• Identify after hours' facilities issues and assist in the coordination of emergency maintenance response.
• Respond to emergency and non-emergency requests for assistance. Activate and coordinate Police, Fire, and EMS response as needed.
• Monitor campus activities and facilities through proactive patrol and observation.
• Provide required services to the Augsburg University Community. These services include walking or driving escorts, locking and unlocking of campus buildings according to class schedules and events, and providing information and assistance to the community as needed.
• Preparation of required incident reports completely and accurately for all security and safety related activities.
• Regular monitoring and use of critical infrastructure systems: CCTV systems, fire alarm panels, automation systems, alarms, access card systems, and parking enforcement systems.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• Typical work environment is continually changing. To include working in both indoor spaces and outdoors for long periods of time in varying weather conditions.
• Sitting, standing, or walking for long periods of time.
• Ability to use a computer and other office equipment.
• Ability to drive a motor vehicle in order to patrol campus grounds and provide escorts.
• Ability to communicate in person and over the phone.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Valid Driver's License.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• 1-year experience preferred.
• Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a diverse work environment.
• Ability to be attentive to details, be accurate and precise.
• Ability to work in a team environment; and work independently with little or no supervision.
• Ability to reason/analyze; maintain confidentiality; and demonstrate patience, and understanding.

About the Position:

Reporting to the Mason Student Services Center Associate Director, the Assistant Director helps ensure that a team of cross trained staff maintain the delivery of high-quality, in-person and email service to visitors. This is a hands-on position, requiring the Assistant Director to work side-by-side with the Mason Student Services Center team of Generalists, serving as the first point of contact for questions and complex inquiries. The Assistant Director alerts the Associate Director to patterns and trends as well as gaps in service or escalations. The Assistant Director monitors performance to ensure that MSSC staff are following documented policies and procedures. This position supervises three or more wage employees and is responsible for oversight of the MSSC Mason Square location, requiring periodic visits to Arlington. This position is ideal for individuals who thrive in a fun, fast paced, customer-oriented environment. The Assistant Director is a full-time, Classified position.

Responsibilities:
• Working alongside the Mason Student Services Center Generalists, assists students and visitors with general and complex inquiries specific to the student's university record(s);
• Navigate a knowledgebase for answers and solutions;
• Intake and review of documents for accuracy; processing and updating student records;
• Manages the MSSC Mason Square (Arlington) location including the virtual supervision of 2-3 part-time staff and periodic visits to Mason Square;
• Assist with training new part-time and full-time staff members;
• Works to create and maintain an atmosphere of exemplary customer service;
• In conjunction with the Associate Director, the Assistant Director monitors an annual event calendar and allocates staff resources appropriately;
• Understands and effectively communicates university and other applicable policies and procedures to visitors;
• Serves as the first point of escalation for dissatisfied visitors and complaints;
• Assists with major recruitment events throughout the year;
• Maintains a professional and civil demeanor in tense or escalated situations;
• Represents the university in a positive, professional manner; and
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience;
• Demonstrated leadership and management skills;
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communications skills;
• Research and troubleshooting skills;

The Graduate Communications Coordinator will plan, organize, and implement graduate admissions communication and outreach services for the College of Engineering and Computing ( CEC ), performing duties across all graduate communication efforts. Reporting to the Director of Graduate Admissions and Recruitment the Coordinator supports CECGS with recruitment and retention efforts and may have responsibility for training and supervising student/non-student wage employees to assist with communication-related projects, as needed.

Responsibilities:
Content Management
• Develop and update the CEC Graduate Studies webpage content;
• Work strategically with CEC's Communications team to ensure delivery of content; announcements, and social media promotions to an expanded audience; and
• Manage and promote recruitment events on various platforms.

Communications and Outreach
• Develop and manage the CEC graduate admissions communication plan;
• Create and enhance personalized email templates to inform prospective students of graduate education opportunities and programs;
• Coordinate with CEC stakeholders to produce successful results for the communication plan;
• Create and maintain a comprehensive communication plan calendar for the office;
• Track campaign statistics and broadcasts through the university CRM ;
• Oversee and manage student inquiry data loads, dashboards, and report creation;
• Identify needs and strategize enhancements to the communication plan; and
• Research and remain current on communications and marketing strategies to optimize graduate recruitment efforts.

Campaign Operations and Recruitment Support
• Build and execute email campaigns for the purpose of inviting and attracting prospective students to graduate events;
• Manage and optimize recruitment materials, both print and digital, to ensure they are current and accurate; and
• Support various recruitment efforts and projects.

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in communications, business administration, public relations, or related field and/or combination of equivalent education and work experience in communications, marketing, student recruitment or business administration and/or working in a higher education;
• Excellent communication skills;
• Effective organizational, planning, and time management skills with strong attention to detail;
• Proactive and critical thinker;
• Goal driven, self-starter;
• Experience working effectively both independently and collaboratively in a team;
• Ability to be decisive, take initiative and complete projects and/or assignments with minimal supervision;
• Excellent computer literacy; and
• Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekend hours.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience working in higher education administration with a focus in marketing and/or communications;
• Working experience with a CRM , preferably Salesforce; and

Please note that this is not a 100% remote/virtual position, but it is telework friendly. Depending on your department/office, you may have the ability to telework up to 2 days per week.
