GENERAL SUMMARY & SCOPE

The Process Owner E&F is responsible for leading the implementation of asset reliability, engineering, and equipment maintenance strategies, planning & budget processes. This role will partner with internal stakeholders and leadership to evolve the future strategy for the Engineering and Facilities processes across the network and will be responsible for leading the implementation of any changes. The Process Owner will set the strategy for corporate and field-based support. The Process Owner will provide engineering leadership with a focus on operational excellence to our distribution centers network. Strong cross-functional collaboration will be critical when partnering with Engineering Leadership, Procurement, DC & Supply Chain Operations. This role will also provide support for on-going continuous improvement projects as well as future strategic supply chain project initiatives.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (*Essential Functions)
• Bring asset reliability best practices & preventive equipment strategies in relation to business processes and system capabilities for the Supply Chain / Retail Industry
• Work cross functionally with a strong understanding of maintenance operations, MHE equipment, Engineering & Facilities management, and Supply Chain/Distribution
• Interpret analytical models, conduct analysis with data trending to gain insights into business opportunities, propose solutions and quantify the improvements in Supply Chain metrics
• Support configuration of CMMS systems to solve business needs; recommend optimized system parameter settings to accomplish efficient preventative and predictive maintenance
• Provide process and analytical support for Ulta’s forecasting, parts replenishment, and other business applications systems.
• Perform asset, labor & part inventory data analysis for recommending Engineering and Facilities cost reduction strategies
• Utilize Supply Chain CMMS systems to analyze optimal preventive maintenance, part order frequency, setting min/max thresholds & Inventory positioning strategies at all the DC/MFC/FFC locations

JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Graduate of an accredited college or university with a degree in manufacturing, supply chain, engineering, or applied sciences
• 5-10 years of Process Owner experience in an industrial engineering, manufacturing, maintenance management, or Supply Chain environment
• * Responsible for supporting the execution of a reliability centered maintenance program with preventive asset reliability strategies & a focus on root cause analysis
• * Experience in multiple disciplines (manufacturing, engineering, field service, automation, & equipment maintenance best practices) is desired
• Knowledge of supply chain processes: Forecasting, planning, inventory management, operations, manufacturing, procurement, sourcing, transportation, warehousing

• Financial management experience: success with driving top-line sales, interpreting reporting data, managing payroll budgets, and controlling expense
• Proficient with basic technology (e.g., POS system, Microsoft Office programs, and Apple devices)
• Advanced competency in services, including sales, guest experience and product attachment

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Director of Engineering and Facilities is responsible for leading a multi-site engineering and facilities team focused on team training, development and engagement, support to day-to-day operations, efficient use and maintenance of all equipment and facilities, and compliance to regulatory policies, guidelines, and standards. This role will lead the engineering and facilities functional areas with support from existing field and corporate maintenance, supply chain network expansion, finance, and procurement teams. As a member of the Distribution Network Leadership Team, this role is accountable for the development and execution of engineering and facilities strategies to support short and long term goals in achieving maximum financial benefit from the Distribution capital expenditures, production equipment and fixed assets, in accordance and aligned with the company's goals and objectives. The role will also provide leadership to the maintenance and engineering departments to improve equipment reliability and assure the effective use of manpower.

CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provide strategic oversight and direction of engineering and maintenance functions to ensure operational reliability consistent with the needs of the broader organization and to ensure the maximum availability and longevity of assets.
• Manage the Engineering & Facilities CAPEX budget for all assigned projects
• Lead the ongoing development and application of preventive/predictive maintenance systems by ensuring all engineering and maintenance associates are documenting all equipment failures in the CMMS application, and establishing trends for repair, maintenance, and downtime costs.
• Create and establish controls to manage and improve maintenance team KPI's, CAPEX implementation, schedules, and expenditures.
• Manage multi-site engineering and facilities expense budget in excess of $2.5 million dollars and a capital budget in excess of $3 million dollars per year
• Support Supply Chain Expansion team with the design, management and implementation of all capital projects that will enhance efficiencies, improve performance, and meet growth plans. This includes defining the scope of work, budget, schedules, and responsibilities within cross-functional teams.
• Maintain current knowledge of the overall current and new aspects of the material handling equipment processes, facilities, and technology.
• Lead the effort to automate tracking of all technical Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) of the Market Fulfillment Centers Region to include all maintenance associates’ technical knowledge and training.
• Support Supply Chain Engineering and Facilities Business Management Team with project design and management, new equipment acquisition, materials acquisition, and process changes.
• Participate in strategic planning sessions (to include current and future direction and applications of technologies, capital improvements and expenditures, and E&F organizational structures to support growth). Influence and drive cross-functional problem solving to ensure the attainment of continuous improvement objectives.
• Create, in conjunction with senior supply chain leaders and Engineering and Facilities Business Management Team roadmaps to deliver short and long-term goals
• Enhance and deliver on Supply Chain Engineering and Facilities Business Management Team functional capabilities through continuous improvement and development of best practices and service level objectives
• Liaise and build relationships with key vendor partner peers to drive critical knowledge exchange and best practices
• Build and maintain strategic partnerships with Supply Chain Engineering and Facilities Business Management Team, IT, People Success, Finance, and Procurement leadership to understand their needs and provide insights on key, priority topics
• Provide tactical and strategic perspectives / frameworks and a disciplined problem-solving approach for all engineering and facilities activities in the assigned region the Market Fulfillment Center Region
• Lead the growth and development of engineering and facilities teams at all levels to support future state capabilities to include upskilling and reskilling based on new and emerging technology.

REQUIREMENTS FOR CONSIDERATION:
• Bachelors or Master’s degree from an accredited college or university
• 15+ years of experience in Supply Chain engineering and maintenance, distribution, and facilities management operations
• Prior experience with building new teams or functional capabilities preferred
• Experience with DC network expansions and contract negotiations
• Excellent executive-level presentation preparation and delivery skills
• Strong customer relations skills
• Demonstrated ability to direct and control activities through managers of the functional area
• Strong conceptual thinker and able to translate business issues into key hypotheses and derive findings using a structured problem-solving approach
• Demonstrated ability to inform and influence key decisions that may have a longer-term impact on multiple functions across the distribution business
• Thought leadership with the ability to build robust plans and execute them with speed, while communicating clear priorities to gain buy-in of others.
• Experience building technology support and deployment strategies
• Significant experience in CAPEX, engineering management, and large project engineering management for facilities, production operations, and material handling equipment management.
• Experience in managing, mentoring, and developing engineers, maintenance, and utility personnel, and operational and/or maintenance managers.
• Experience in developing strategic plans and investigating in new manufacturing and facilities processing technologies.
• Developing budgets and methods to save expenses and increase efficiencies
• Must be a self-starter and be able to successfully develop and execute against departmental goals with minimal guidance
• Ability to manage and drive accountability across an integrated team in a production support environment.
• Excellent verbal and written skills to communicate with associates and all levels of management.

WORKING CONDITIONS
• 24/7 on-call position requiring weekend work. Work additional hours and/or days as needed, particularly during high-volume periods, to ensure business objectives are met.
• Requires up to 60% travel to destinations including Ulta Beauty corporate offices, distribution, market and fast fulfilment centers, and vendor offices.

The skin therapist (ST) is responsible for engaging with guests and consulting with them on their skin care needs to recommend products and services. The ST delivers quality professional services with emphasis on the guest’s total look. They support the prestige sales manager (PSM) and focus on performance (service/retail sales, and in-store events), people (guest service), and process (operating procedures and compliance standards). This position requires a passion for the beauty industry, exceptional guest service, and the aptitude to learn and communicate product knowledge.

The ST is a champion of Ulta Beauty’s mission, vision, and values, and should demonstrate them skillfully and consistently through the following (as well as all other projects/duties as assigned):

• Drive skin services and prestige retail skin sales
• Demonstrate, recommend, and sell prestige skin and makeup products.
