Job Summary
The main goal of Office of Residence Life is to provide a comprehensive living and learning program on campus that supports the academic mission of the University. The Resident Director takes primary responsibility for achieving this goal in an individual residence hall through supervising staff, assisting students, creating an educational environment in the hall, and communicating with partners across campus.
Major responsibilities include:
• Hire and supervise undergraduate student staff.
• Oversee all aspects of building administration (monitoring security equipment, maintenance reports, room assignments, payroll, and various department forms).
• Implement and enforce policy (holding in-hall conduct meetings, train and implement safety and security policies and emergency procedures).
• Oversee academic programming initiatives.
• Provide for an environment in the residence hall that supports students’ academic success.
