The University of Houston-Victoria enrolls approximately 4,000 students.

The School Psychology program is a graduate, Specialist level program that leads to licensure in the state of Texas as a Licensed Specialist in School Psychology (LSSP). The program is also accredited by the National Association of School Psychologists, leading to national certification as a School Psychologist. The program is hybrid, offering both online and face-to-face classes in Victoria and Katy. Faculty also teach undergraduate Psychology courses as their schedule allows. This position will start in Fall 2023.

Required qualifications: A Master’s or Specialist level degree in School Psychology; a minimum of three years of experience working as a school psychologist; excellence in teaching activities. Applicant should hold an active license as a school psychologist in Texas (Licensed Specialist in School Psychology and/or Nationally Certified School Psychologist) or be license eligible in the state of Texas.

Preferred qualifications: Preference will be given to candidates with a terminal degree (Ph.D.) in School Psychology and advanced experience working in schools. Candidates who have college level teaching experience and have supervised graduate students are preferred.

Position summary: Candidates will be required to teach a combination of courses (4/4) in the School Psychology graduate program and Psychology undergraduate program. Candidates are expected to participate in course and program development, perform other duties as assigned by the dean and chair of the Psychology Department, and perform all other related activities as required.
