Postdoctoral positions are available in the lab of Dr. Neil Lin at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA), located in the Bioengineering Department and Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department. In close collaboration with Dr. Jimmy Hu’s lab at UCLA, we are developing AI-informed therapy for mesenchymal stromal cell rejuvenation. Cell rejuvenation, while achievable in... principle, involves the orchestration of multiple interlinked and complex pathways that regulate DNA damage repair, organelle functions, autophagy, and oxidative stress. Postdoctoral fellows will work on interdisciplinary projects within a highly collaborative environment to identify optimal combinations of small molecules and signaling ligands (e.g., growth factors and inhibitors) that synergistically promote cell rejuvenation. Using multiomics, candidates will decipher the aging trajectory of mesenchymal stromal cells and gain mechanistic insights for designing novel rejuvenating strategies. This project will equip the candidate with skills in computational biology, bioinformatics, and stem cell biology.

Qualifications

Highly motivated and creative candidates with a PhD or MD in life sciences, bioengineering, or equivalent fields are encouraged to apply. The candidates should have experiences in cell biology or tissue engineering. Being knowledgeable in computational biology or genomic studies is a plus.
