A nine-member board of commissioners appointed by the governor oversees the agency. The commission aims to improve Oregonian’s quality of life by strengthening the economic impacts of the state’s $13.9 billion tourism industry, which employs 117,000 Oregonians.
As the VP of Destination Stewardship, the successful candidate will lead the harmonization of three essential functions – stewardship investments, destination stewardship, and regional-based services as well as lead the Destination Stewardship team with primary responsibility for developing and executing Travel Oregon’s destination stewardship strategy. They will manage departmental and organizational operations and deliver regionally-based destination, investment, product, and community development outcomes to support Travel Oregon’s mission.
This position will manage staffing/talent, priorities, outcomes, and budgets and serve as a liaison with industry organizations to provide technical assistance, facilitation, and funding to communities and the industry. As a Travel Oregon Executive Team member, the VP of Destination Stewardship will provide strategy and decision-making for long-term organizational and industry success while ensuring resources are invested at their highest and best use.
