Fáilte Ireland invites applications for the position of Head of Tourism Careers & Sector Engagement. The role will report to the Director of Sector Development. The loss of staff and skills across the sector following the impact of the pandemic has been one of the greatest challenges facing the tourism sector’s recovery over the past couple of years. Positive strides have been made in 2022 to fill vacancies across the industry however the post-COVID Fáilte Ireland invites applications for the position of Head of Tourism Careers & Sector Engagement. The role will report to the Director of Sector Development.

The loss of staff and skills across the sector following the impact of the pandemic has been one of the greatest challenges facing the tourism sector’s recovery over the past couple of years. Positive strides have been made in 2022 to fill vacancies across the industry however the post-COVID recovery of employment in the tourism industry has been slower than that of the wider economy and with the latest labour market data showing an economy operating at full capacity, attracting talent continues to prove challenging.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

The successful candidate will have a minimum of five years’ successful Leadership experience in a related management role with strategy formulation and/or execution that includes senior stakeholder management / influence and engagement, programme/project management,

and team management. We... are looking for an individual who has highly developed interpersonal skills and has demonstrated an ability to build strong external and internal strategic partnerships. Experience of initiating key strategic projects that delivered positive impact is also required. Specifically, the successful candidate will have the following skills:

• Leadership skills/gravitas to deliver key strategic projects with multiple stakeholders

• Working collaboratively across functions with excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills

• Ability to identify innovative solutions that impact in the short to medium term

In order to be eligible to apply for this role you must have / demonstrate in your application

form the following

• Minimum of 5 years’ successful experience in a business management role within a sector experiencing similar challenges operating at leadership level and managing a sizeable team.

• Demonstrable experience in developing and implementing strategy Significant knowledge of how to address the challenges in attracting and retaining talent at a sector level

• The ability to influence and manager a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders at senior level with quantifiable results.

Qualifications/Mandatory Training

• A professional qualification (minimum Level 6 under the QQI Framework) in a related discipline

is essential

DESIRABLE CRITERIA

• Working knowledge and experience in promotional campaign delivery

• Experience of working in the tourism or hospitality industry

• Possess a 3rd level qualification (Level 8 or 9 under the QQI Framework) in a business or

related discipline.

What we need from you:
• Five years of experience in a marketing campaign delivery role.
• Proven expertise in HubSpot or similar CRM and marketing automation tools.
