With a 40% film incentive and new studio in construction, the Las Cruces Film Office is an important economic development office within the community. It is run and operated by a 501c3 organization, Film Las Cruces.

The Director of the Las Cruces Film Office will serve as the primary point of contact for marketing Las Cruces to the film, television, and emerging media industries. The liaison will provide production coordination assistance including the use of local soundstage and backlots. The liaison will help coordinate, organize, and implement the FILM LAS CRUCES INC. objectives for growing the film industry in Las Cruces and southern New Mexico. NATURE OF WORK

The Director of the Las Cruces Film Office position will engage in the direct marketing of Las Cruces to the film, television, and emerging media production industry. It will require extensive scouting of filming locations, and the development and marketing of a location database of diverse locations from in and around our community. The liaison will travel extensively within our community and occasionally within New Mexico and the United States. The liaison will work to meet the needs of potential and existing productions, and may require after hours, weekend, and holiday involvement.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

Knowledge of:

· Film, television, and emerging media community liaison marketing.

· Film, television, and emerging media production and technical needs.

· Federal, state, and local ordinances, rules and regulations, and policies affecting productions.

· General marketing and public relations’ practices.

· Area resources, topographical features, climate, and health and safety issues relating to local/regional environments.

Skilled in:

· Film, television, and emerging media production and marketing.

· Personal computer use, social media, program and record management including spreadsheets and databases, and photography.

· Analyzing and prioritizing multiple tasks, projects, and demands in an organized manner.

· Written correspondence to and public speaking before various professional, public, and legislative bodies.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

-Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree and five years or more years film production or film and television production marketing experience. While experience in the film and television production industry is required, Film Las Cruces will access a totality of the applicant’s background and potential aptitude as a film liaison.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Yearly, salaried position $50,000 - $65,000, medical and dental insurance, and vacation time.

FILM LAS CRUCES OBJECTIVES

Including but not limited to:

· Coordinate with prospective and ongoing film productions, and lead on-site visits to assist in the successful coordination of all production needs.

· Promote and market Las Cruces to the film, television, and emerging media industries.

· Develop a diverse location filming database and regularly market available locations to industry professionals and the New Mexico State Film Office.

· Community outreach to various community groups interested in learning more about the industry and how they can get involved.

· Provide support and marketing assistance for local film industry.

· Support educational outreach to schools and universities, including job training. Promote use of students and graduates in filmmaking.

· Work with the local news outlets to provide accurate information about the film industry in Las Cruces.

· Maintain communication and coordination with film-related unions.

Provides oversight of protective services contractor (Security, Fire, & EMS) at Spaceport America.
The position is needed to plan, direct, coordinate, manage, and lead all agency-wide safety and security functions provided to the agency by one or more contractors.
The position will be responsible for providing oversight of the existing contracts and developing, issuing, and monitoring request for proposals (RFPs) related to protective services.
This position will evaluate monthly contractor invoices and ensure the contractor is billing in accordance with their respective contracts.
The position is needed to liaise with regional, state, and federal law enforcement, safety, and homeland security agencies on matters related to but not limited to real world physical security threats and cyber related threats.

How does it get done?
• Oversee and provide quality assurance of personnel** (e.g. contractors, non-state employees) who are essential to implementing the protective services Security and Fire/EMS contracts providing

direct services, and/or complying with federal, state, regulatory, or other oversight requirements.
• Responsible for success of full life-cycle funding, budgeting, financial receivables and payables, and reporting processes related to the program(s).

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have experience in the following:
• Extensive knowledge in ensuring policies and procedures are compliant with federal, state, regulatory or oversight regulations.
• Experience with program management and providing oversight of contractors who are providing direct services
• Hands on experience in the protective services related careers, i.e. Law Enforcement and/or Fire or EMS services
