A Registered Professional Nurse is responsible for the planning, implementing and evaluation of care for a given patient population with the established standards and practices of Crouse Hospital. This process is enacted through direct clinical practice, management of patient care and general professional duties.

Education/Experience Requirements

Required:

Graduate of an accredited associate degree
• Must pass NCLEX within 120 days.

Preferred:

Bachelor of Science in Nursing from accredited nursing program or higher degree
• Bachelor’s degree required within 8 years of being hired or those licensed after 2017.

Licensure/Certification Requirements

Required:

Current New York State licensure as a Registered Nurse
Basic Life Support (BLS)

Preferred:

Certification in a specialty area.

Critical Care Nursing

PALS required within one year
ACLS required within one year
