SYD’s Technology function, known as Technology, Data and Digital (TDD), operates a hybrid work environment and sits within SYD’s Operations division. They are a customer-centric team, and their work has a direct impact on a variety of stakeholders, including internal teams, external stakeholders, passengers, and airlines. Always ensuring resilience of the systems that underpin SYD’s status as a world class airport, and one of the world’s busiest, is planned, delivered, and managed efficiently and effectively.

They will redefine the passenger experience and create the foundation for how the airport operates well into the future, by leveraging both existing, and emerging technologies.

Reporting to the Lead Project Manager, Corporate and Commercial Technology, in this interesting, rewarding, collaborative and flexible role that will continue your learning journey, you will utilise your strong Stakeholder Relationship, Management and Influencing abilities to deliver optimal project outcomes across a range of technology solutions that have direct impacts on the end users (predominantly internal teams, retail customers and passengers). You will be well versed in Waterfall methodologies and will utilise this knowledge in conjunction with your knowledge of Agile ways of working and your PMBOK / Prince2 (or similar) expertise to ensure that technology is leading business outcomes in a proactive manner. You will work across multiple, concurrent projects ranging in scale from $500K - $5m to deliver upgrades to our systems, applications, and ways of working, as well as implementing new technology across the business. During the projects you are managing, you will lead Business Analysts and Change Management teams and ensure everyone works together in close collaboration.

To perform these responsibilities, you will use, hone, and further develop your existing skills in technology project delivery, stakeholder relationships and exemplary communication, budget and resource management, conflict and risk management, and management of Vendor partner teams. You will also be Prince2 / PMBOK certified.

You don’t have to tick every single box, but you do have to have the right attitude to get things done and make a difference in a collaborative manner. If you can demonstrate similar experience and a passion for technology and customer service, then we would love it if you applied.

This is a permanent, full-time role, operating in a flexible and hybrid work environment (2-3 days a week in the office).

The Senior Manager, Strategic Airline Campaigns will oversee the global promotion of Sydney Airport’s airlines, routes, and destinations to maximise their efficiency and develop new market opportunities. The Aviation Partnerships team leads the airport’s aviation development through attracting new international airlines to SYD, establishing services to new international destinations and growing capacity on existing routes. Your role will be to develop and execute marketing campaigns and activations in Australia and overseas to promote new and existing airlines and destinations.

We are after an individual who not only has a passion for travel and aviation but can also manage the partnerships aspect of the role, whilst having an exceptional track record on leading end to end marketing campaigns and knowing what channels will work to drive passenger demand.

As part of this role, you will drive synergies with SYD’s... central marketing team and support their objectives of maximising value generation from assets and channels across the airport and globally establishing the SYD brand as an Australian icon.

In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to
• Promote airlines, routes and destinations in Australia and overseas to maximise their efficiency and develop key strategic markets for Sydney which are currently underserved.
• Create, lead and deliver innovative global marketing campaigns and activations to promote SYD’s existing airlines and routes: Oversee, manage and track all campaigns end-to-end, comprising all activities and relationships on- and offshore.
• Develop creative concepts for joint global partnerships and manage relationships with the respective airlines, tourism & travel trade, airports, agencies and other international industry partners; Negotiate and secure partnership funding and lead campaign execution.
• Consistently monitor and report on execution and expenditure, track ROI to ensure timely adjustment of strategies and budgets.
• Assist in deciding on the allocation of the aviation marketing budget and marketing funds offered under airline incentives within the joint SYD/NSW Government Aviation Attraction Fund (AAF); Coordinate and manage all promotional activities on behalf of SYD under the AAF
• Work closely and drive synergies with SYD’s central marketing in areas such as, the execution of SYD-based campaign elements and events managed by central marketing (e.g. inaugural flight events), airline promotions across the precinct and SYD channels, development of marketing plans across SYD’s advertising assets etc. Support/drive the creation of innovative concepts to maximise value generation of SYD’s assets and channels, such as joint affinity marketing to grow SYD’s customer base.
• International and some domestic travel required.

Your background should include
• A minimum of 5+ years of management experience in a strategic marketing and strategic partnership's role, desirably in the aviation or travel trade industry
• Proven experience of developing and leading creative partnership campaigns across various target audiences that engage, educate and motivate.
• Extensive experience in the digital space and a solid understanding of the Australian travel trade as well as international markets
• Experience and existing network with the Australian travel trade and a strong understanding of the aviation and tourism industry will be highly regarded.
• Experience in working cross-culturally with international stakeholders is desired.
