We're looking for a Machine Learning Manager, Stories Ranking to join Snap!
What you'll do:
• Lead a team of machine learning engineers to build and deploy scalable ML models that power content quality and recommendations across Friend Stories, Subscriptions, and Discover sections.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product, Design, Data Science, and Infrastructure, to define and prioritize ML initiatives that align with Snap's strategic objectives.
• Manage and develop team members, provide technical guidance and mentorship, and foster a culture of innovation and continuous learning.
• Drive best practices for software development, ML engineering, and data management to ensure the reliability, performance, and privacy of ML systems.
• Stay current with the latest research and industry trends in ML and related fields, and apply them to solve complex problems in innovative ways.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
• Deep expertise in machine learning, with a track record of developing and deploying production-grade ML systems at scale.
• Strong leadership and management skills, with experience in leading high-performing teams of ML engineers and delivering business impact.
• Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in ML, such as Python, as well as familiarity with relevant frameworks and tools, such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and scikit-learn.
• Solid understanding of how to invest in both long term efforts that will have tangible milestones, as well as short-term optimizations with concrete goals.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 8+ years of relevant industry experience in ML engineering or a related field.
• 1+ years of experience in managing and leading teams of ML engineers.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Advanced degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Experience in developing and deploying ML models for social media or consumer-facing products.
• Experience in applying ML to computer vision, natural language processing, or recommendation systems.
• Contributions to open-source ML projects or publications in top-tier ML conferences or journals.

Compensation
In the United States, work locations are assigned a pay zone which determines the salary range for the position. The successful candidate's starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These pay zones may be modified in the future.
• Zone A (CA, WA) : The base salary range for this position is $230,000 - 335,000 annually
• Zone B : The base salary range for this position is $219,000 - 318,000 annually
• Zone C : The base salary range for this position is $196,000 - $28,000 annually
• This position is eligible for equity in the form of RSUs
