DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION: Physical Production spearheads and supervises feature film production strategies for Columbia Pictures, TriStar, and Screen Gems. The process begins from the time a film title is being considered for production and carries through to delivery of the movie. We work closely with finance, creative, business affairs and many other departments to present a comprehensive production plan and with those partners, closely manage and execute the plan.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Read scripts on current projects to prepare for engaging in departmental work for e.g. Set breakdown & location research
• Assist department coordinators in setting up and monitoring current productions, including tracking production progress, script revisions, paperwork distribution; becoming familiar with the procedures, processes & terminology of the Production Office and Set
• Assist department coordinators in breaking down scripts and preparing them for scheduling
• Assist department coordinators in the smooth and efficient daily running of the department
• Assemble crew availability lists from below-the-line talent agencies
• Assemble stage availability lists from worldwide resources
• Attend internal production meetings to learn how finance, post-production, visual effects and physical production share information and support each other

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Current undergraduate, graduate student, or recent Bachelor’s
• An interest in & love of feature film production
• A desire to concentrate on the physical production side of filmmaking versus the development/creative side
• Attention to detail, display or an application of, and interest in content creation
• Interest in researching film rebate programs worldwide
• Confidence to take initiative and ask questions about the nuts and bolts of production, what you do and don’t know
• Be familiar with films currently in the theaters as successes and failures are frequently referenced during research
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Current undergraduate, graduate student, or recent Bachelor’s in Film or Communications
The anticipated base salary for this position is $17/hour. This role may also qualify for comprehensive benefits. Overview:

As part of SPT International Production’s worldwide network of television production companies, SPT Production, Latin America & US Hispanic develops, produces and coproduces scripted and non-scripted, Spanish language programming for clients (basic cable, premium cable, broadcast, SVOD, etc.) in the US Hispanic and Latin American markets. With offices in Mexico, Colombia, Miami, and Sao Paolo, SPT offers the region a variety of flexible content and business models to its clients. From the Miami office, SPT Production, produces and coproduces scripted programming for free TV networks in the region, pan-regional cable channels as well as OTT platforms.

The Vice President, Content Development, LATAM & USH will report directly to the MD & SVP of Production for Latin America and US Hispanic and will work closely with the senior management team of Latin America and USH production in Miami. His/Her objective will be to establish SPT - USH/Latin America Production’s reach in original programming through creative development and will be responsible for leading the development efforts of Sony’s Latin America and USH Production division and ensuring the long-term success of the organization as a leading provider of quality programming.

His/her main goal is to bring compelling stories and projects to the division, pair these projects with the best creative writers in the region, oversee the development process and collaborate with the production team once projects are greenlit for production.

Responsibilities:
• Identify IP & engage writers to develop that IP in USH/Latam; guiding those writers to deliver high quality, relevant development materials.
• Source, evaluate, develop, champion and sell ideas and concepts for scripted projects relevant to clients throughout USH and Latam; local in scope, regional in appeal with a focus on Colombia, Mexico and the USH market.
• Actively lead and develop a team of internal resources to reach established goals.
• Lead and work closely with the creative team of each coproduction partner or client in the development process and identify and package elements to assist in the sale of content (ie - IP, principal cast, head writer, EP, director, art, etc.).
• Manage process for the evaluation and development of ideas and concepts that have the potential to become successful projects, including existing Sony IP.
• Optimize the use of development funds to create a development slate that is relevant to clients, anticipating trends in audiovisual content.

• An established base of existing creative relationships with clients in major markets as well as relationships and credibility within the creative community (writers, directors, producers).
• A US Hispanic/LatAm or crossover developer who truly understands, navigates, and lives the culture and idiosyncrasies of the audience.
• Involvement in all aspects of content; concept creation, strategy development, team selection, airing initiatives, production support and budgetary knowledge.
• People management skills that can handle complex internal organizations with a mix of creative, analytical and show-biz personalities.
• A customer-focused content developer with a thorough understanding of Sony’s multiple audience dynamics.
• Experience in structuring, scripting, and invigorating storylines. Someone with the enthusiasm and leadership qualities to inspire writers.
• Proven management skills
• Languages: Spanish (Native level), English (Advanced to Native level); Portuguese (a plus)

Experience:

Minimum of 10 years’ experience of entertainment experience is required; 5 years of management experience, leading a team
