The Challenge to Solve

Your expertise will help ensure the company remains compliant with GAAP as it continues to scale while working with the global accounting team to implement SOX 404 compliant processes and controls.

The Role

As the SG&A Accounting Manager, you will be an integral part of the Accounting team, assisting leadership with all aspects of the financial close process and various reporting requirements. You will support and coach a growing team of accountants to accurately record and analyze financial data to meet overall team objectives as well as proactively identify process inefficiencies and lead to develop and execute process improvement initiatives/solutions. You will assist the team with balance sheet and operating expense activities such as A/P, lease accounting, software capitalization and stock-based compensation. Additionally, you will be responsible for providing support to finance management and other business partners as needs arise, including ad-hoc financial analysis and special projects. This role will report to the Senior Accounting Manager.

The Team

Your day to day will include oversight of monthly accounting entries and other close procedures, including booking higher risk journal entries and reviewing journal entries prepared by team, balance sheet reconciliations, and operating expense review. You will review monthly financial data and make sure all activity has been recorded and reconciled accurately. The team supports annual budgeting and budget to actual comparisons on a monthly basis working directly with Finance, Planning and Analysis (FP&A). Additionally, you will partner with the Marketing, Product, and Finance organizations to ensure complete, accurate reporting on the balance sheet and income statement as well as with the Finance, Sales, Operations, and Engineering organizations to design, prepare, analyze and implement processes and system updates in order to support new initiatives.

The Winning Recipe

We're looking for a detail-oriented, efficient, and adept at identifying process and control improvements across a global organization.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and SOX 404 processes and controls
• 5+ years accounting experience, with at least one year operating in a managerial role
• Strong excel skills, including data tables, pivot tables, v-lookups, etc.
• Familiarity with online accounting software
• Highly detail oriented and organized in work
• Ability to meet assigned deadlines
• Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and the ability to work seamlessly within a team as well as with other business units
• Ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from supervisor to accomplish objectives
• Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external constituents to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving, and results
• Eager to learn and grow in a fast-paced exciting tech startup environment
• Easily coachable and open to feedback for continuous self-improvement
• Bachelor's degree or higher degree in Accounting or Finance
• Public accounting experience and CPA is preferred

Salary Range: $80,000 to $130,000 annually + equity & benefits.

Serve food courses and alcoholic beverages to guests. Set tables according to type of event and service standards. Answer questions on menu selections. Communicate with the kitchen regarding menu questions, the length of wait, re-cook orders, and product availability.
