I'm looking for a variety of customizations to a new shopify website that I've already built. I'm a developer, so I'm looking to work together with somebody on specific modifications and configuration of certain Shopify apps. I'm using the ENTERPRISE premium theme.
Would like somebody who is English as a first language, would like to speak over the phone or screenshare and have somebody that... knows the site who can work with me over the next month
I'm looking for a variety of customizations to a new shopify website that I've already built. I'm a developer, so I'm looking to work together with somebody on specific modifications and configuration of certain Shopify apps. I'm using the ENTERPRISE premium theme.
Would like somebody who is English as a first language, would like to speak over the phone or screenshare and have somebody that... knows the site who can work with me over the next month or two and maybe beyond.
I would like to arrange an hourly rate, then set specific tasks and estimated time blocks. This can also include screenshare time and working together.
Here are the basic details I'd like to implement into the site, in order of importance. Some are "wants" and not "needs" towards the bottom of the list. Would like to work on this right away.
1. I want my store to be members-only (but also free)
When they visit the website, ideally the only thing visible on the entire site would be the homepage. Or maybe even a landing page that hides everything else? Whatever is simple. It would probably be best if there was some type of toggle on certain pages, but we can keep this simple.
2. Users can input text when they place an order, on certain products
I have already setup a plugin for uploading files to certain products, but would like to also add a "text input" box on certain products. Perhaps a paragraph text box or several text input fields. For example, if they add a certain product type to the cart, they would fill in a text box or several text inputs.
It would be really helpful if they could even upload files or unput text AFTER the order is placed, by logging into their account and uploading the files or submitted the text after the order has been placed.
3. Order Fulfillment by inputting a link to the destination of the asset. A URL for example.
My products are all digital delivery but need to be fulfilled manually. So when I go to "Fulfill" the order in the admin area, it would give me a text-input box where I could "paste" the URL to the fulfilled order. For example, they purchase a page on my website, the fulfillment is me including a link to the destination URL setup for them.
4. A variety of payment options, what can we do here?
Is it possible to allow for a 50% deposit to place an order, or perhaps a temporary hold of the amount until order is fulfilled? Most customers will pay with PayPal. Can you inform me what is possible here?
5. Display Google Analytics Data on the Product Page
The story has 17 "collections" and each collection is associated with advertising products on a single website. I would love to include the real time "Google Analytics" data of the website via a chart embedded into the collection page. (SeeTheStats.com is a good example.)
6. Specific Member Pricing Set Specifically for Each Customer
Is it possible to set specific prices for a specific customer? For example, Customer A and Customer B have a set price specific to each client for Product 1 and Product 2. So Client A can have a price for Product 1 that is different than Client B's price for Product 1. This might need to be done with Pricing based on membership tier?
7. Seems the new version of Shopify has weird Product Categories that don't match my products. Can we adjust?
8. Shipping Turn Off
All my products are digital, manually fulfilled, not downloaded. Can we remove or disable all shipping components.
9. Potential customization to the "order status" page.

The Shopify Developer is a hands-on contributor, advisor, and collaborator with exceptional technical skills to deliver successful outcomes for client projects and internal initiatives. The right candidate has a passion for digital craftsmanship, an eye for detail, strong communication skills, is an intuitive, curious, and proactive problem solver, and can’t help but find opportunities to improve... development work. This will be a part-time or freelance role with potential to become a full-time position.
What You'll Do
• Build Shopify websites and implement new feature additions to help clients achieve their goals with practical solutions for their budget and thoughtful consideration of both end users and website owners on the client team.
• Actively participate in all stages of the development process from requirements and ideation to pushing the final product across the finish line to deliver polished, launch-ready work you are proud to attach your name to.
• Serve as a development subject matter expert, collaborative guide, and creative problem solver to help us to do our best work.
• Proactively identify considerations, misunderstandings, faulty assumptions, or valuable insights that can shape how teammates and/or clients make decisions or understand a situation.
• Guide conversations from exploratory brainstorms to informative discussions to help clients and teammates understand a given situation and accurately assess the pros and cons of alternative options.
• Collaborate with digital advertising strategists to identify and evaluate opportunities to increase website conversion rates.
• Work with designers to ensure website designs are optimized for development efficiency, include necessary interactive elements/states, and consider any limitations or existing styles.
• Leverage the Production team to plan, activate, and advance work (i.e. drafting plans, creating and managing tasks in ClickUp) so you can focus on tasks you find most rewarding and can provide the most unique value.
• Troubleshoot, research, evaluate issues, and recommend solutions.
• Periodically engage with clients to discuss project goals, present work, or explain key technical information.
• Have regular meetings with agency leadership for you to share highlights, challenges, areas you need guidance or support, and what you need from us to be successful.
The Ideal Candidate Has:The skills and experience to jump right in.
• Minimum 8 years of professional web development experience in a full-time position at a development services organization or digital agency environment.
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience focused on front-end development for consumer-facing websites.
• Experience leading dozens of website projects start to finish from technical requirements to final testing & QA.
• Experience building and customizing Shopify websites using Liquid. WordPress experience is a plus.
• Expert technical skills in foundational front-end languages/techniques like CSS, jQuery, & AJAX.
• Experience with CSS preprocessors, CSS viewport animations, GitHub, REST APIs, & JSON.
The natural strengths to excel in this role.
• Strong work ethic, sharp attention to detail, and drive to build equally impressive and functional works of digital art.
• Passionate about development, naturally curious, and enjoys finding novel solutions to technical challenges.
• Inspired by working on a range of projects and collaborating with talented people in complementary fields.
• Excellent time management skills and mindset of finding new ways to increase personal productivity, big or small.
• Effective communicator with a natural ability to translate complex technical information for a non-technical audience to understand enough to make a decision or contribute what is needed from them in a project.
• Naturally inclined to develop structure around day-to-day work and implement solutions to predictable problems.
• Has a craftsman’s mindset of continuous learning, improving, testing new tools and methods, and refining the skills and techniques used in your craft.
A personality aligned with our core values.
• Be you in every room. We welcome a diversity of people and ideas. We are at our best when we bring our authentic selves to the table, wherever that table may be. Being genuine is freeing and the critical foundation to build stronger connections with the people around you.
• Trust is everything. We do right by others out of principle. We are honest and trustworthy partners to our clients and each other. When we trust each other, we can let our guard down, we can be honest with each other and ourselves. We can share more ideas, find better answers faster, and use optimism to propel us forward rather than allow fear to hold us back.
• We get there together. While we are talented individuals, our strength lies in what we can accomplish as a team. We’re candid, constructive, thoughtful, and ask for help when we need it. We look for opportunities to lift up our teammates, celebrate their accomplishments, and help them when they stumble.
• Excellent work is our baseline. We must look closer, ask more questions, and test new ideas to deliver stellar value to the brands we serve. We don’t leave messes for someone else to clean or unfinished work for them to finish. We ask why more than what in order to understand the goal so we can focus on delivering the best results, whether it’s for a client, a teammate, or our future selves.
• Enjoy yourself along the way. We don’t take ourselves too seriously. We believe in the power of positivity, kindness, and laughter. Happiness is contagious. It can supercharge our best days and get us through our worst. Life is short, we have a responsibility to enjoy it and help others do the same.

• Freedom to work. We get out of your way and trust you to do what you do best.
• Freedom to own projects from a development standpoint
• Freedom to focus and get really good at what you do (we're focused 100% on ecommerce and the Shopify platform)
• We're selective about the clients we work with.
• You'll be a key contributor on the team. We intentionally grow slowly and carefully - you won't get lost here.
• Opportunity to work with a skilled, friendly, upbeat team who work hard, do exceptionally good work, and delight clients every day.
You:
• Fluent to native English speaker
• 3+ years professional full time experience as a Shopify developer
• Have Shopify/Liquid development experience (you've developed Shopify themes from scratch)
• Deep appreciation for, and understanding of good web design. You don't need to be a designer, but you should "get it."
• Expertise in HTML/CSS/Sass/JS
• Well versed in RWD techniques and mobile performance
• Write well-structured (vanilla) JavaScript
• Comfortable with building front-end templates using JSON APIs
• Take pride in clean, readable code
More importantly -
• Desire to learn (curiosity)
• Passion for all things web
• Willingness to do things the right way (especially, late in the game when it's hard)
• Easy and enjoyable to work with
• Have high attention to detail
• Communicate well in writing
Pluses:
• Solid backend full-stack dev experience.
• Digital agency experience
The position: You'll work with our designers who will provide design direction. This is a position where your attention to detail and desire to do things right will be encouraged and rewarded.
Benefits:
• Competitive pay: Including a profit-sharing program.
• Retirement help: We add 7-10% of your salary to a 401K, no matching needed.
• Health, dental, vision, and disability insurance coverage: 100% employee premium coverage.
• Remote first/only: Enjoy a flexible work schedule, and work from wherever you like.
• Vacation: All major holidays, plus 3 weeks paid vacationincluding the last week of the year, plus 3 personal days.
• Work/life harmony: We keep work to 40 hour weeks
• Technology stipend: So you can focus on your work
• Yearly retreat: Each year (when we're not in a pandemic!) we all gather as a team for a week somewhere fun to connect, learn, and have a lot of fun together (and it's optional!)
• Parental leave: So you can take a little time to care about the things that matter most.
• 5-year bonus: Paid sabbatical + $3,000 US bonus + additional week of PTO going forward
• The best team you've ever worked with.
