This person must be able to strategically target funding sources - individuals, foundations, corporations, family offices, and more; have the skills and experience to approach high net worth individuals and organizations; and be an integral part of the overall planning and expansion of the organization.

To date, we have helped 103 young women from Rwanda, Cambodia, Liberia, and Guatemala win $27M+ in full scholarships at top U.S. colleges.

When fully staffed, the organization has 15 full-time employees, one part-time, and four in-country Coordinators. There are seven members of the Board of Directors. The annual budget in FY 2022/23 was $1.8M, and FY 2023/24 will be $2.5M. SHE-CAN hosts an annual gala that raised $1.3M last year. SHE-CAN has 500 mentors and over 100 volunteers across the U.S. SHE-CAN has established formal relationships with 12 top U.S. colleges that provide full-ride scholarships for our scholars. Role and Responsibility

Reporting to the COO, the Development Director will run our fundraising program and ensure long-term relationships are initiated and cultivated.

Key Responsibilities
• Spearhead and execute long-term Development Strategy, including growing the donor base, diversifying funding streams, strengthening donor cultivation, and bringing current and prospective donors into a long-term giving plan.
• Manage marketing and social media team, including providing high-level support to the Marketing Manager in executing social media outreach and events, including our annual gala.
• Oversee Donation Processing and invoicing of pledges which is handled by the Financial
• Specialist who reports directly to the CFO, with a dotted line to the DoD.
• Oversee preparation of financial projections and evaluating fundraising performance with
• the Development Coordinator and CFO.

• Fundraising Expert: Proven fundraiser including successful track records in securing donations, grants, and sponsorships.
• Strategic Planner: Successful at developing and implementing long-term fundraising plans and campaigns, setting fundraising goals, developing strategies, and measuring performance.

Qualifications
• Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in fundraising, including a track record of leading successful fundraising efforts including foundations and grants.
• Knowledge of and connections within the Development Landscape: SF Bay Area experience preferred.

• Skilled project manager and able to juggle multiple tasks.
• Team Player: Collaborative, resourceful, adaptable, willing to go above and beyond to support the entire team.
• Tech Proficient: With essential tech skills, Salesforce or other CRM expertise is ideal.

Benefits and Compensation

Hours: This role requires 40 hours per week, based in our Mill Valley office from Monday to Friday, 9:30 am to 5:30 pm. We believe in the power of collaboration and community, fostering a culture where regular in-person interactions enhance team dynamics and shared experiences.

Onsite: Candidates should reside within a reasonable commute time of our office in the San Francisco Bay Area. The in-person aspect of this role is essential for effective collaboration. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required, but we strive to keep this to a minimum.

Compensation: The salary for this position ranges from $100,000 to $135,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
