Support and cultivate internal referrals by developing relationships with Commercial RMs and FSC Managers within assigned territory.
Support and cultivate external referrals by developing relationships with COI s and Brokers.
Develop and implement an annual Market Plan to obtain portfolio growth based on budgeted departmental and individual goals.
Actively maintain and manage an SBA pipeline report detailing all active SBA opportunities.
Gather all elements required for each loan package from the applicant ensuring that the package is complete prior to submitting the SBA underwriting team.
Obtain additional items needed to close loan as requested by the SBA Documentation Specialist (internal or external), the SBA Closer, and the SBA Coordinator.
Close the loan as dictated by the SBA Authorization.
Manage all post-closing activities as required including but not limited to the organization of executed loan documents, assisting the SBA Coordinator with any disbursements, and ensuring that any items listed on the Post Closing Agreement are obtained within the stated time frame.
Identify COI s utilizing internal referral sources and Brokers (Broker Referral Program) in order to develop a book of referral sources.
Increase visibility in assigned territory by participating in business, service, and other non-profit community organizations.
Attend SBA District Office sponsored events as a representative of the Bank s SBA Department.
Responsible for compliance with laws and regulations that apply to the position, including the Univest Code of Conduct Perform additional duties as required Customer-focused, goal-oriented individual with strong interpersonal and communications skills along with a strong knowledge of credit and banking.
Business development skills.
Bachelor s degree in Finance or equivalent experience in related area desired.
Minimum five years of SBA-related experience.
Prior experience as a conventional relationship manager is preferred.
Understanding of SBA s current Standard Operating Procedures as they relate to all aspects of the life cycle of an SBA loan.
Ability to identify SBA opportunities as being eligible or ineligible early in the application phase.
Knowledgeable regarding all SBA forms and the ability to explain forms to the customer.
Ability to structure loan requests within the SBA s Standard Operating Procedures.
Ability to manage risk and delinquency within individual Portfolio Strong community involvement in geographic area.
Ability to handle most problems/exceptions in an independent manner.
PC experience, specifically in Excel, Word, and Outlook desired.
