Job Description:
PuppySpot is looking for an experienced front end engineer to join our team. Our front end engineers are responsible for building and implementing features on our consumer facing website and internal tools. The front end team works closely with the product and back end teams to translate designs into standards compliant HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
Responsibilities:
• Support and enable consumer facing website using HTML, CSS, JavaScript and PHP
• Build and maintain internal tools using both JavaScript and PHP frameworks.
• Work with backend developers and product stakeholders to translate designs into great products for customers
• Build, lead and maintain front-end build pipelines
• Write thoughtful tests and documentation for new and existing features
• Participate in standard agile ceremonies such as standup, planning, grooming meetings, and demos to define requirements and break project requests into actionable stories
• Participate in code reviews and work collaboratively with other engineers across teams
Skills and Experience:
• 3+ years of work-related experience in modern JavaScript frameworks
• Strong experience with React and React Hooks
• Solid TypeScript experience
• Familiarity with product management methodologies
• Strong communicator and passionate about improving the existing infra
• Ability to match design direction with markup and styling (UI Libraries include Tailwind, MUI)
• In-depth understanding of the entire web development process (design, development, and deployment)
• Experience working closely with back-end developers and an understanding of how to manage interfacing with APIs
• Knowledge of version control (Git) and the code review process
• Solid understanding of CI/CD processes
• Fast learner, able to read the documentation on systems or frameworks you haven’t worked with and jump right in
Nice To Have:
• Experience with React Query
• Experience with Docker
• Experience with AWS (in particular, EC2, ECS, CodeBuild, CodePipeline)
