Polygon Composites is seeking a Shipping Clerk to join our 1st shift team of talented team members. Responsible for labeling and packing or repackaging product for shipment or storage in the warehouse. We are seeking a detail-oriented candidate that will take pride in monitoring the work being performed, assuring customer specifications and needs are met. SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Responsible for accuracy of inventory in packages and total inventory in warehouse.
• Prepare all packages for shipment and ensure shipments due are shipped on time.
• Responsible for loading and unloading trucks.
• Create all paperwork necessary for shipment.
• Make necessary computer transactions to complete shipments and deliveries, and to keep inventory levels correct.
• Store product in proper storage location
• Maintain accurate paperwork, proper labeling, and proper storage of product for shipping and receiving area.
• Willing to work regular and off-shift hours.
• Work in a safe manner.
• Maintain clean work area.
• Performs other duties assigned at discretion of supervisor:
• Safe operation of company-owned vehicle.
• Compliance to vehicle guidelines and procedures.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS – To perform this job successfully, the individual must be qualified with knowledge, skill and abilities listed below:
• Must have a valid operator license and willing to obtain a chauffeur license.
• Required to understand basic math.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents.
• Ability to write legibly.
• Licensed forklift driver.
• Working knowledge of computer operations.
• Ability to read/understand measuring devices such as a tape measure.
• Chauffeurs license preferred. (Mandatory if driving company vehicle)
• Medical certification – public passenger (State Form 3337) preferred. (Mandatory if driving company vehicle)
PHYSICAL DEMAND – The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions:
• While performing the duties of this job, the employees is regularly required to sit, stand, climb, walk, use hands, and talk and hear for a minimum of eight (8) hours a day.
• Able to lift and/or move 25 to 50 lbs. periodically during the day.
