The Assistant Editor of Research will staff fact-checking requests that come from the tech platforms. We’re looking for someone who is detail-oriented, has a background in journalism, and has experience managing a team of reporters/researchers.
The Assistant Editor also would be asked to help with our public-facing fact-checking — line editing fact-checks of the day’s news and follow our established procedures for quality control.
Candidates must have excellent judgment and embrace PolitiFact’s core values of accuracy, independence, transparency, and fairness. (Read PolitiFact’s “The Principles of the Truth-O-Meter” for more details.)
This is a one-year project-funded full-time position. This position is eligible for remote employment.
