The Senior Administrative Assistant is responsible for establishing systems for and managing all administrative aspects of the Presidents work, including but not limited to scheduling meetings and calendar management; drafting correspondences, occasional reports, meeting agendas and providing presentation preparation support; logistical support for speaking engagements and related preparation for travel, expense accounting, calls, and files; and maintaining contacts and database files on behalf of the President. In addition, the Senior Administrative Assistant is the liaison with the Foundations Board of Directors for scheduling board and committee meetings, meeting materials, and other needs that may arise, as directed by the President and/or Board and/or Board Committee Chair.

Presently, the Poetry Foundation is working a hybrid schedule, with a required three days in the office and two days working from home. While there is some flexibility with the chosen three days in the office, all employees are expected to be onsite on Wednesdays.
