Pitchfork seeks a Designer with experience in brand strategy, multiplatform design, typography, and creative ideation. The ideal candidate will also have strong organizational skills as well as a proven ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment across all digital platforms.

Responsibilities include:
• Develop graphics, illustrations, and photo content for daily posts as needed, as well as weekly features, columns, playlists and social media
• Partner with editors, social media managers, and video team in order to understand design needs and orchestrate projects accordingly
• Work with senior creative team members and editors on holistic design approaches to tentpole packages, social media initiatives, or other brand extensions
• As needed, assist with designing navigation bar changes, topic page header backgrounds, and other website UI, in partnership with Product team
• As needed, assist Design Director with commissioning illustrations and maintaining project schedules
• Collaborate with editorial, production, and photo departments on a project by project basis
• Ensure Pitchfork branding and design standards are maintained across all internal and external presentations
• Assist senior creative team with administrative tasks as needed (expense reports, invoice processing, budget tracking, etc)
• Help conduct photo research and work as production assistant on photo or social video shoots as needed

Required Skills & Qualifications:
• 2+ years relevant work experience in media or similar field
• Highly organized, detail oriented, and excellent communication skills
• Well-versed in SEO best practices and social media trends
• Extensive knowledge of Adobe CS software is a must; experience with Adobe DPS a major plus
• Experience working in animation and motion graphics
• Ability to provide AfterEffects and design elements to onsite videos; working knowledge of HTML/CSS and jQuery
• Knowledge of the culture and entertainment media landscape with an interest in music
• Base Pay Range: $58,000 - $80,000

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES – PRODUCTION STAFF (PART-TIME):

● Process marijuana plants ( trim buds, break down plants, prepare fresh frozen material for extraction, etc.).

● Assist in related work such as inventory, product preparation, sanitary practices, waste protocols, cleaning of tools and facility, etc.

● Learn and uphold product quality standards.

● Understand, abide by, and enforce AZ Department of Health Services (“AZDHS”) rules, regulations and compliance standards.

● Wear and maintain appropriate personal protective equipment at all times.

● Complete daily checklists of tasks with efficiency and precision.

● Assist in maintaining a safe, clean and professional working environment.

● Safely and compliantly move cannabis products throughout the facility.

● Ability to perform repetitive tasks with precision and attention to detail.

● Keep up with a fast paced and high energy environment. We work hard, but we have fun while doing it!

PAY AND BENEFITS:

● $15.00/hour.

● Flexible days/hours – you choose when you work from the available shifts! The only requirement is to work a minimum of two (2) shifts per month and at least four (4) hours per shift to maintain good standing as a contractor. We routinely have shifts available throughout the week (morning, afternoon, and evening) and on the weekends (morning and afternoon).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Required):

● Must be 21+ years old.

● This is a part time, independent contractor (1099) position.
